Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist

Commander / EDH*

enter image description here

Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist + Quietus Spike makes for some interesting combat choices. You can only block with one creature and that creature WILL DIE, or you lose half your life... your call. Mirri + Godsend is equally problematic for opponents because whatever they block with is exiled... no ifs ands or buts.

Mirri + Nacatl War-Pride = a token in play and attacking for each of your opponents creatures. One token MUST be blocked by the ONLY creature they can block with allowing the rest of your board to get in for damage.

Spear of Heliod does double work as a token buff and a deterrent after you swing with Mirri and your board.

Throne of the God-Pharaoh has found its forever home here. Swing with your army... make them lose a bunch of life and still be protected thanks to our commander. Masako the Humorless acts as a sort of back up to Mirri and works great as a surprise tactic if an opponent does decide to swing at your tapped board.

Yeah that card was part of the reason I opted to go tokens instead of voltron with her. Figured it would be a fun alternate win con :)

Grenville are you building her as well?

Thanks for the upvotes so far everyone... I've never sought them out but they always feel good :)

I think this deck is going to be an absolute blast to play.

Thanks for checking the deck out! You are right in that the swords would all be great along with Stonehewer. The reason thats all in my maybe board right now though is simply my playgroup.

No one I play with has the budget to build tier one type decks with all of the ideal cards. So I built this to make use of cards that are more suited to Mirri in general than good in absolutely any case. So while I am running an equipment package and a couple of ways to tutor for them, I didn't want voltron to be the focus of the deck.

That being said I think voltron Mirri would be incredibly strong with the right build and I am sure im going to see my fair share pop up on here. I'd be interested to see if the "staple" equipment package most voltron decks ran changed at all to include some of the ones that are more interesting with mirri.

Happy brewing!!

Beastmaster Ascension Yes indeed, put it in there. Also, some of those token producers - looking at you Guildmage - are expensive and slow. Hornet Queen, Ant Queen, and White Sun's Zenith are also mana intensive, but more bang for your buck I think.

Also, Cloudstone Curio is a great way to repeat token makers, reuse etb, and get more value out of your critters.
