Sideboard

Wilderness Reclamation and Growth Spiral are both potential game changers for Bant Control, and IMO it should bring it back on the radar along with it's old friend Glittering Wish .

The gameplan is using growth spiral to ramp into reclamation, and from there use the free mana to go over the top of other decks and combine tapping out for threats, wishing for specific answers and using mana sinks while still being able to keep up counter magic during our opponents turn. Since the deck goes bigger than most control decks there should be more emphasis on 3-4 cmc hard counters like Cryptic Command and Voidslime and only a couple of the more standard 2 cmc counterspells.

So Reclamation, Spiral and wish along with 25-26 lands and a stack of counterspells are the core of the deck, and the rest can be built in several ways. You Could certainly go with Teferi, Jace, Snapcaster etc like the UW decks and add a few big mana bombs to that and it's probably pretty good.

What I have opted for here is a manasink and prison package with Kefnet the Mindful , Worship and Porphyry Nodes . Main reason being that kefnet is an absolutely amazing mana sink for Wilderness Reclamation , drawing cards is one of the strongest things you can do in a control deck and Kefnet can use up mana both on your turn and in the opponents end step if there was nothing to counter. Kefnet also makes having several copies of reclamation out good as he can use the mana between the triggers, which is a very big advantage and makes reclamation stay a decent topdeck in the lategame. Worship goes perfectly with this as well and as long as you can protect Kefnet makes you unkillable in a lot of matchups. Worship also playes very well with Lumbering Falls , normally a mediocre manland but with reclamation giving us the option to easily activate it on our opponents turn, the hexproof creature turning on worship can very well translate to a hard lock. Lumbering falls is also hard to destroy with LD effects as turning it on makes them fizzle. For this reason I'm going with 3 falls and only 2 Colonades in this version of the deck, without worship I would go for 4 Colonades 1 falls I suppose. Rhonas the Indomitable I added as a bit of an afterthought and I'm not sure about it, but it's pretty good to have the 5th god for nodes and worship, Kefnet turns him on and having the buff+trample effect available can be very relevant to close games out.

The Sideboard is a Glittering Wish package very similar to previous bant control decks a few white staples. There are certainly many ways to build the wish package and you might be able to work some kind of combo in there too. Biomancer's Familiar is there to wish for when Kefnet and Reclamation is out so you can go crazy with the card advantage.

Leave some feedback to help me improve this thing and give an upvote if you like it, cheers.
