added secondary wincon —April 28, 2019

The deck was lacking a secondary wincon as sideboard.

Originally, if your opponent casted Ixalan's Binding or Unmoored Ego on your Jace, you were pretty much dead.

Now, against that, the sideboard includes four copies of Arclight Phoenix. That's right. the deck goes from Dimir to Grixis JUST to deal with that hard removal.

"How tf will I cast phoenix??" You won't. Most of your phoenix will go directly into the graveyard. If you were to draw any of them, you can send them into the graveyard by discarding them with jump-start cards. You do not need red mana since you will never play them from your hand. So yeah, you're officially a red-less grixis.

Additional Changes

  • Added two copies of Devious Cover-Up to the mainboard and deleted the other two copies from the sideboard
  • Deleted two copies of Aid the Fallen from the mainboard. They are no longer needed, since Devious Cover-Up is now in the mainboard
  • Added one Island and removed one Swamp. A ton of hours of testing proved that the deck needed even more priority for blue mana.

Oh, bae means "before anyone else". It's just a way to say that's the best card for milling and the most valuable card you can have.

Opt is good, but provides no value for milling or when milled. Radical Idea , however, has a similar effect, and can be played from your graveyard.
