Creature (3)

Aggro Mill

Aim

The main idea behind this deck is to mill an opponent to death by using the Duskmantle Guildmage and Mindcrank combo. A turn 4 win condition works as follows :

Turn 1: Island
Turn 2: Swamp + Mindcrank
Turn 3: Land + Duskmantle Guildmage
Turn 4: Land + activate Duskmantle Guildmage's 1st ability then play Tome Scour, or activate in response to any instant or sorcery an opponent casts

Otherwise the deck relies on hiding behind Wall of Frost and/or preventing attacks by destroying creatures, whilst milling an opponent completely out of cards.

I have purposefully left the deck unrefined in terms of consistently hitting this combo due to the fact that whilst infinite combos are powerful game enders they are equally as boring to play if achieved on a regular basis.

"It's not the winning that counts but the taking part."

Key Combos

Duskmantle Guildmage + Mindcrank
Cause an opponent to put a card in their graveyard after activating Duskmantle's ability and let them mill themselves to death.

Consuming Aberration + Mind Funeral
Massive amounts of mill.

Phenax, God of Deception + Wall of Frost
Allows me to mill 7 cards each turn for no mana.

Main Board

Consuming Aberration
A great source of mill coupled with getting big and nasty in the mid to late game with the number of cards that will inevitably be in opponents graveyards.

Duskmantle Guildmage
One half of the infinite combo this deck is based around and also one of the key sources of damage if combined with a mill spell or Consuming Aberrations static ability.

Jace's Phantasm
A nice early game ping for damage against opponents without flying defence and becomes a real threat in the mid to late game once enough cards are in an opponents graveyard.

Master of the Feast
A powerful flyer for only 3 mana which can mill for 5 with Phenax and force extra card draw from a dwindling library.

Phenax, God of Deception
With Wall of Frost and the potential size of a Consuming Aberration this can result in a very effective source of milling. It also means the Mindcrank / Duskmantle combo can be initiated with only the cost of the activated ability.

Wall of Frost
The other part of the blocking force within the deck which keeps most creatures at bay long enough to hit the mill \ kill combo.

Doom Blade
One of the three removal spells in the deck. The removal, like the blocking force is designed to keep an opponents creatures at bay whilst also being able to trigger the mill \ kill combo by sending an opponents creature to the graveyard.

Go for the Throat
Another part of the removal in the deck which allows removal options for black creatures which Doom Blade doesn't cover.

Ultimate Price
The last part of the removal in the deck to definitely ensure problematic creatures opponents control can be removed.

Mind Funeral
For only 3 mana this can put a lot of cards in an opponents graveyard.

Tome Scour
In terms of mill per mana, one of the best cards I could find. Due to its low mana cost it means the Mindcrank + Duskmantle combo can be triggered as early as possible with only 4 mana available.

Mindcrank
The other half of the infinite combo an another useful source of mill when Consuming Aberration, Jace's Phantasm or Nighthowler start doing damage.

Jace, Memory Adept
The talisman of the deck due to his 0 ability and a good source of card draw if required who can hopefully be sufficiently protected by Fog Bank, Wall of Frost or the removal elements within the deck.

Disclaimer

All my deck centre around trying to do one or two things well based around a certain theme, they are not intended to be able to defend and cope with everything and anything that comes their way. (Good Card Suggestions vs Deck Dilution)

I am a 'kitchen table' player with a limited budget. As with all my decks advice and suggestions (as well as +1's) are always very welcome but keep in mind anything above the $5 per card mark I'm unlikely to consider.

The more reasoning you can give with any suggestion you make, the more likely I am to consider running it in the deck. This is because I can't always spot the combo or idea you are going for. Letting me know what your thinking gives me a better insight into how you think this deck might be made better by the suggestion.
