ZendikariWol, thanks! I'm so glad someone else finds the name hilarious. I'm starting to think I am dealing with a tough crowd here. Are there any suggestions you could give me? I want to turn this "okay" deck, into greatness!

It's actually very good, it just isn't my kind of deck. However I would propose a copy of Crater Hellion or Slice and Dice.

Maybe Drumhunter and the "behemoths" from the alara block (which give bonuses to creatures w/ 5 or more power). That might, however, distract from the elemental theme and it's understandable that you didn't put them in. Drumhunter is still pretty good though.

First of all, your deck is hard to read due to cards appearing in multiple categories. If you want to do this create a separate category named "Deck" where you simply put your entire deck. When you write the description make sure to include your gameplan and the problematic decks you are trying to beat.

If you are trying to win in one go I recommend Vicious Shadows, Craterhoof Behemoth, Ogre Battledriver, Natural Order, Tooth and Nail, Worldly Tutor, Crop Rotation, Defense of the Heart

For value Nissa, Vital Force, Courser of Kruphix, Bane of Progress, Beast Within, Decimate, Green Sun's Zenith, Panharmonicon, Evolutionary Leap, Asceticism, Xenagos, the Reveler, Xenagos, God of Revels, Birthing Pod, Acidic Slime, Swiftfoot Boots, Skullclamp, Strip Mine, Wasteland, Mosswort Bridge

For specific opponents Scavenging Ooze, Stranglehold

Cuts, my suggestions would be Amulet of Vigor, Rakka MarBUt my best suggestion would be to just play, see what works and what doesn't and adjust accordingly.

ZendikariWol and Descole, thank you so much for the feedback! It was all very insightful and I will take all suggestions into careful consideration. I took off the custom categories for now until I can clean it up and get a proper description typed up.

As for some of the deck commanders I face regularly, they would be: Scion of the Ur-Dragon, The Gitrog Monster, Norin the Wary, Atraxa, Praetors' Voice, Jhoira of the Ghitu, Talrand, Sky Summoner, Vial Smasher the Fierce, Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim, Rashmi, Eternities Crafter, Maelstrom Wanderer, Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper, Sliver Overlord, Sharuum the Hegemon.

As for a game plan, my goal is to ramp as much as possible early on. Get Omnath out by turn four, create as much elementals as possible and give them haste to attack immediately then sac the majority of them for additional damage. It is crucial for me to have draw mechanics, ramp and haste early on to have game advantage. In my playgroup especially, it is always a race to get early field advantage and take out those who try to WinCon as early as turn 3-6. I hope this helps.

They've started calling my Omnath deck the "Death Star" at our local LGS's.With Omnath, I usually just end up playing lands (pretty much in the corner eating glue) until I've built a big enough board of 5/5 Elementals. Then at the last minute when someone wipes the board (you pray for this moment in most games) then fire in Second Harvest. It's even more fun with Doubling Season and/or Parallel Lives in play.

gnelson56, that is one of the best parts about playing Omnath. I love getting so much value out early on then watch the blood drain from everyone's face, as they all look to one another on how they are going to "handle" my field. It usually ends up being a very painful board wipe for all of them. I forgot all about Second Harvest, that would be a perfect flash in card, right before someone wipes the field. I'll have to make room to add that. Thank you!

Have you thought about running things like Overwhelming Stampede, Triumph of the Hordes, Altar of Dementia in the deck? The first two do not need any explanation but Altar is fun because you can mill someone out and also something you may find interesting is that if Omnath has infect when he bolts things he bolts with infect. Which to me just seems silly for the throne of king a$$hole. What do you think?

Starsky2814 says... #10

KingMathoro, all three cards would make great additions. Though I am leaning more towards adding Craterhoof Behemoth back into the deck over Overwhelming Stampede. As for Triumph of the Hordes, this has been a card I have been putting much thought into adding. How I see it while paired with Omnath and his loyal subjects... gg! I think I could replace Ashnod's Altar with your recommendation of Altar of Dementia. Milling out an opponent while another takes the bolts is like taking out two birds with one stone, I like. Thank you for your support on my claim to the throne of king a$$hole.

Gruul Turf for the landfall?

nice deck +1 I like it but the way I like to be an A$$hole is with a deck similar to the deck I built Iroas's Judgement

PurpleGame0, I'm not really a big fan of lands that enter tapped or bounce lands. I can see it being useful if I have Amulet of Vigor in play, since it taps for two mana, but the point of the bounce land is to target itself for landfalls and to guarantee a land drop each turn. Correct? I see it as a smart mid game land to have once I am set up for additional land play and Omnath is ready to rage. I don't have a problem adding Gruul Turf, it's more of an issue on which land to cut, in order to make the addition. Thank you for the suggestion. If there is anything else I missed, let me know. I am still fairly new to MtG.

whales, thank you for the +1! I really appreciate it. We are one step closer to achieving the goal of creating the best Omnath deck. But we have a long way to go. I checked your deck out, looks good! I returned the favor and gave you +1.

hey :) not about to read all those comments, cause i'm lazy, but here's a link to a different omnath deck that might have some interesting cards in its decklist. (he's mono green and using the other omnath, but yeah, check it out, it's a great deck)

Also- a card you NEED: Elemental Mastery

May 24, 2017 2:41 p.m.

One card that I love to run in my Omnath deck (linked here if you want to take a look) as a blindsiding win-con is Soulblast. With Omnath in play and a critical mass of elementals you can pretty much one shot 2 opponents for the price of 6 mana.

I have also found Abundance to be exceptionally strong in my Omnath deck for filtering through to relevant cards.

The additions of Rakka Mar and Dokai, Weaver of Life might also be helpful as additional elemental creators.

Lastly, Ghost Town is fantastic with Omnath, especially if you have any cards which let you play additional lands each turn.

May 24, 2017 3:12 p.m.

Oops sorry, just noticed Ghost Town hiding in amongst your lands.

If you want explosions, try Hostility! My Omnath deck is similar to yours, but budget and more based upon one-shots. Check mine out! If you have any suggestions for me, I'd appreciate it

Yeah, that was the idea for Gruul Turf, to target itself once you had set up a reliable mana base. And if you added a card like Exploration, you could play both normal mana and turf.

ZendikariWol, I like what Elemental Mastery brings to the table and it does fit the theme of the deck. I'm just unsure of what cut I can make to include it to the list.

Hi_diddly_ho_neighbor, I was thinking about cutting Amulet of Vigor and Chandra's Ignition for Abundance and Soulblast. What do you think? Abundance would pair perfectly with Sylvan Library. As for Soulblast, it's what I was trying to accomplish with Chandra's Ignition, but better due to the amount of damage that would be dealt.

ZM4C, Hostility seems okay. I just don't think it will fit as well in my deck as it does for yours. Great suggestion though, thank you! I liked what I saw in your deck and gave it +1.

riburah, +1 for your deck as well. Another great adaptation on Omnath. I'll have to thoroughly review your deck to see if there are any "must adds" to incorporate to mine.

Personally, I'd hang onto Amulet of Vigor mainly because of its combo potential with Perilous Forays and Omnath, Locus of Rage. I'd cut Harvest Season for Abundance if it were me. That card seems very much like Animist's Awakening where on the surface it seems like a slam-dunk in a landfall deck, but in practice is pretty lackluster. That being said, you do still have Lotus Cobra which can play the same role as Amulet of Vigor in the combo, so you still could cut it and be fine.

What?? Scapeshift with no Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle/Vesuva combo??

Also, seems like you are missing some important removal pieces: Chaos Warp, Song of the Dryads.

Where Ancients Tread can be a second(ish) Warstorm Surge.

Might as well give my own shameless self-promotion if you want to take a look:
