Yo, Josijo, thank you for taking a moment to comment. Your points sum up the arguement I've been having with myself. In this deck, Judge of Currents and Thassa, God of the Sea were like my plan B's. I kept asking myself if the security of a back-up was better than a more securely executed plan A. Thanks to your feedback, I feel more confident about the best approach. Now I can't wait to play it this way. In need of house cleaning indeed.

Wanderwine Hub instead of Tundra would greatly decrease the price.

Wowzers you are so right TheOnionsAreJamesBond. The price (on the low end) went from $894.39 down to $208.35. I'd recommend that option for other folks who might play this. G/B is one of my favored color combos I use in many different deck designs so I decided to invest in Tundra

I think you might want 4 Tideshaper Mystic since you are giving your merfolks islandwalk it seems like it would be helpful, but don't take that advice just from me I don't play legacy and I've never done a merfolk deck so I'm not the most experienced player for this type of deck.

Hi I would replace the Spell Rupture with Mana Leak or Counterspell for a more solid counter, otherwise the deck seems really good.

Pretty solid creature base already. Could probably take on my zombies and white weenie and win with all the lords you have lol. I'd run Counterspell instead of Spell Rupture solely because casting it turn 3 to counter my Thoughtseize Dark Ritual etc. would make it a mana leak. definitely good for mid to late game where it would cost serious mana to nullify though. Also avoid Flooded Strand solely because of cost. Too many onslaught fetch lands can quickly empty your wallet. If you can afford 2-4 without flinching, then go for it.

I heard that they are going to reprint fetch lands which would make the price go down so I might wait.

Excellent point! I was ready to make the switch and then you commented. Perfect timing. Ideally, I'd have Force of Will in there... if it wasnt so expensive...

i used to run a similar deck like this during lorwyn shadow era. it was fun i had gotten back into magic at the time and had a blast. i am now getting into modern, been playing nothing but standard. dont know much about modern but for a modern deck i have been good with it. tell me what you think.http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/08-06-14-blue-fish/

I think (if it wasn't so expensive) it'd be a nice addition if I had a way to draw more cards. As it is, I am often left handless, so anything that helps play cards faster isn't that helpful as it amplifies my need to replenish my hand even more so.

Spreading Seas > Summon the School . You might want 4x Remand over your current spells.

Are you saying to take out the token pushers for more islandwalk insurance?

Aether vial needs to be mainboard, what you want to do is cheat your merfolks with vial at the end of their turn while using your own lands to cast counterspells and stuff. That's just my two cents.

Yes I agree. I just haven't had money to go towards buying them yet ): and while Master of Waves is cool, I don't feel he's good enough to take someone's place, he isn't as synergistic as what I've got going on.Talrand, Sky Summoner is similar, and closer to the overall flavor of this deck, so I suppose if I was going to concentrate on token production more, I'd choose Talrand. But the almost instant win available from bringing the Master out at the appropriate time is awful tempting...

Cavern of Souls isn't here? I feel like this deck could run 2 or three of them.
