I love Meren but the traditional lists have a bit too much overlap with Muldrotha for me. I decided to build a Meren list with a restriction on what rarity of cards I can use. This deck only has uncommons or commons in it, and it's still pretty sweet. I could play Demonic Tutor and Sylvan Library in here if I really wanted to, but I don't think that's in the spirit of what I'm trying to do. This deck is pretty powerful for being under 100 dollars at this current time, because most of the interaction and engine cards are commons or uncommons. The only problem is that the deck lacks an actual way to end the game in one shot. That's not really avoidable, since most of the more traditional 1 shot cards in these colors are rares or mythics. We usually nickel and dime people out with drain effects, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel will get us there in the late game. The general strategy of the deck isn't any different than a normal Meren deck though: grind the big value. Honestly, the biggest losses are the Grave Pact effects, since there's not a lot of good board wipe effects at uncommon, though commander legends did give us an uncommon Languish.
