Meren is surrounded by death, just the way she likes it.

Recurring value is the name of the game unless you can luck into the infinite combo in this deck. Considering the combo requires Necrotic Ooze on the field and both Devoted Druid and Channeler Initiate in the graveyard, odds aren’t great but it’s possible to get infinite mana. Once infinite mana is achieved, there are a few mana sinks to use if handy: Necromancer's Stockpile helps fill the yard (especially if used with a creature with Dredge) and Gravewaker + Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord using infinite mana means the table’s life total is done for.

Filling up the grave is the aim of most of the rest of the deck, aside from some removal to deal with threats, so that Meren can get some value going. Ramping is very important, hence all the mana dorks I’m using and Veteran Explorer , while also helping the opponents, is an all-star because of how many lands it can provide.
