Here we have stax deck built to ramp hard and force your opponents to lose resources. Opening hands should consist of two or more ramp pieces, some lands and a stax effect. Dropping a turn 2 Winter Orb can really slow your opponents down, while you have mana dorks and rocks to speed ahead of them. Mid game you want to have some way to protect Meren, maybe have used a couple of edict effects and tutored for either removal or combo pieces. Late game try and get out your winning combo, Ashnod's Altar + Catacomb Sifter + Nim Deathmantle or try and attack in for damage with your creatures if your opponents' creatures are gone.

Pros: Due to how fast and resilient Meren's creatures can be hard to stay dead. With the low Converted Mana Cost of the permanents in the deck, we can get away with a low land count. Being in Golgari gives us access to great cheap mana dorks and the best tutors in the game (not like I have any here...).

Cons: Due to Meren's ability she is a massive target for removal or effects like Nevermore, Meren can become extremely hard to cast. This deck doesn't desperately need Meren, but without access to consistent reanimation, it becomes difficult to effectively control the board state. Grave hate isn't the worst thing ever, due to our removal, but it does cause us to lose a major factor of our deck if the grave hate stays around for long.

You will like this deck if: you like to make your opponents suffer, reanimating your creatures for free, Golgari in general or permanent oriented decks, Meren home of stax is the place for you.

You won't like this deck if: you dislike winning through an infinite combo, graveyard interaction, you like creature-few or creature-less decks or you hate stax as a deck archetype.
