As I break into Modern and start to form my decks, I will undoubtedly have to get a little creative with my collection until I have traded for or broken down and purchased my ideal cards.
Since I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing and tend to always fly by the seat of my pants, learning by trial and error, I will update my decks as I go along.
Here is have what looks like some Junk Melira, Sylvok Outcast deck. We see some of her combination friends here is Viscera Seer and Kitchen Finks. However, after play-testing a less original and more "standard" version, I wanted to be able to use my graveyard more readily. The addition of Bloodghast gives me options if the life gain combo has been foiled and I still want to try and get to the cards I want. It also gives me a nice juicy target if using Jarad's Orders and makes Grisly Salvage work a lot better. Throwing Unburial rights and Lingering Souls in there has also proven helpful. All of this with some Liliana of the Veil and Thragtusk helps me have strong alternate win conditions without having the deck attempting to do "too much".
If I combo off, I win.
If I try to combo and it is foiled I end up with awesome stuff in my yard and ways to get it onto the field.
Chord of Calling seems good, and I only have one in my collection, but am open to other suggestions.
Fog and Arbor Elf may not be needed, and if you can think of some other good, flexible 1-drops, I am all ears!
I would also like to throw in a few fetch-lands, but not too many. They will also help that Bloodghast get into play more often.
Remember, this is a WORK IN PROGRESS!
Constructive criticism and help guiding me in strengthening my build is welcome! I would also like sideboard suggestions!
