It's called megadredge because it's pretty much a dredge deck without the library discard or graveyard requirement. Who needs lands anyway? In addition to the variety of methods to either draw creatures or play them for free, the new elves in Magic Origins provides additional potential combos:
Joraga Warcaller + Increasing Savagery The reason there is only one Joraga is because you will be searching and running through your library many times. I usually get a Joraga by turn 5ish, right around the time I have enough mana to kick him like 4 times. This combo works by using Savagery to put a bunch of counters on Joraga, who shares that buff with all other elves you control. Elvish Archdruid can probably solo cast flashback Savagery for a delightful 10 more counters.
Temur Sabertooth + Wood Elves or Sylvan Messenger or
Elvish Harbinger
or a creature with "When this enters the battlefield". Nobody cares about the indestructible, it's the fact that you can use Sabretooth recast the other creatures to recycle their enterence trigger, for either forest dredge, creature draw, creature search, or others respectively.
Sideboard: It's mostly for protection against those mean black decks with that ever annoying creature hate.
Withstand Death
Is really the only way to save "one" of your creatures from a board wipe, which is a weakness to this deck, particularly Crux of Fate. Fortunately those have a high cost and you will probably have enough static buffs to keep your creatures alive from a toughness based board wipe like
Death Frenzy
before it's cast. Elvish Champion should be sided in against a non-elf green decks because of the forestwalk buff. Reclamation Sage and
Sundering Vitae
are for synergetic constellation and artifact decks.
If you have any suggestions, think I'm wrong about these matchups, or other constructive criticism, I want to hear it. This deck will be both competitive AND fun.
