Its all about the megafauna here. Nothing too unfair like a top deck Blightsteel Colossus here and not too many artifact creatures. I want to push a fun theme of feral animals being led by their leader. I wanted to have a discard outlet with this deck, opening up other options out for putting creatures into play. Cards like Library of Leng and Hua Tuo, Honored Physician go very well with Mayael. Also want to keep a lot of the multicolored creatures due to the Dragon Arch . In all, this deck brings out creatures to go directly against the enemy. The main way I want to get to my opponent is through them, not having things like too much flying and the like. My board removal is through my creatures. Its a style choice really, things like Wrath of God are really effective but I want to stick with this motif of fighting creatures. A lot of help came from the Mayael EDH Primer built by MaelstromHobo, so go see that great deck for any other help.
