With 11 Legendary Creatures, I might suggest adding Eiganjo Castle to your mana-base. It could very well give you the last edge you need in a fight.

Might i suggest including more artifact ramp along the lines of Talisman of Impulse + Talisman of Unity or the signets. along with Quicksilver Amulet and Elvish Piper for "cheating" cards into play. i'm also going to suggest Scroll Rack as it and Sensei's Divining Top are both ace at manipulating your hand and top deck. Eternal Witness is a near must in any green deck, along with Soul of the Harvest which is a card advantage machine in any deck with creatures... you also have a distinct lack of planeswalkers i use Domri Rade and Garruk, Caller of Beasts for getting creatures to my hand. Skyshroud Elf turns any and all of your lands into Plateau which is not to be underestimated for fixing. you could potentially run Genesis Wave if you think you can get the mana. ive made a mayael deck but my fnm is competitive with edh that i have to run stuff generallly seen as unfair. my edh tries to combo out with infinite mana and drawing the deck in the turn before turn 10, which is easier than it sounds. here it is if you want a look http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/mayael-rings-of-basalt-top/ there are other things u can add and do but i think you've got a pretty solid deck.

Lordaether, thanks for the suggestions!

Our play group tends to have lots of board wipes -- but very little land destruction. So I've focused more heavily on getting lands out than on artifact/enchantments, with mana dorks least of all. That the Talismans can come out on turn 2, or only effectively eat up one mana, is something I should probably look at more. I'm not sure which of my current mana helpers I would want to remove for them (or for the Mana Crypt I got in an EM tourney). The blockers made by Awakening Zone and Freyalise have been handy. Maybe Land Tax?

I don't own a Scroll Rack or Sensei's Divining Top, but have put them on my trade-for list to consider for a variety of decks. Don't have Genesis Wave either. The problem with them, Quicksilver Amulet and Elvish Piper is that I'm not sure what I'd want to sub out. I don't want to go down on the creatures. I get in trouble if I don't have enough control of my own. That leaves Defense of the Heart and ...? Right now the deck is focused on either being able to use Mayael or getting the mana to hardcast things, so it feels like I'd almost have to put them and the deck access in all at once and switch out a bunch of things. I will definitely keep them in mind if I find it solving.

Soul of the Harvest is solid, but is on the list I'm trying to avoid (it doesn't directly pump the angels or dragons).

I do have two planeswalkers in the list, they're just hiding (Freyalise under Mana and Sarkhan under Boost). I've played around with Garruk, and would probably use him if more of my big creatures were green. I was pondering Domri Rade but went with Sarkhan Vol instead at that update. I've been really happy with him.

Saw the Splinter Twin in your list and am tempted to find a spot for it. (I keep forgetting I picked one up post-ban).

You need a Tooth and Nail. You ramp hard enough to reliably entwine it every game, and you can use it to get out your strongest creatures in one turn, like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and Xenagos, God of Revels for example

Ocelot44 - thanks! I had mentally slotted that into the "un-fun category" when putting together a deck that (at the time) had craterfhoof in it. Here I don't really have any instant win cards, so it should be more reasonable. I don't own one now, but I've put it on the Maybeboard so that I don't forget.

Take a look at Illusionist's Bracers. It does work in Marath, Will of the Wild, Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, and Jalira, Master Polymorphist. Paying 6 for a huge guy is cool, but paying 6 for 2 huge guys is cooler.

Wilhelm1892 - Thanks! I used to have that on my maybe list, and I'm not sure why it's not there. Until recently we were doing partial Paris mulligans, so Burgeoning and Exploration often gave tons of lands (and need for more ramp to keep up). With fewer lands out it feels like even a better card and I'll dig mine out to try and slot in.

I'm not sure this could still work so well if I used an affordable mana base...That aside, I wonder how you'll adapt this for Dinosaurs!

czarkingrex How affordable do you need to go? Replacing the ABUR duals with scry lands doesn't seem like it would be that noticeable in a lot of games (except for the two damage on fetching or Wood Elves if you needed it right away). Having to also get rid of the allied fetches and shock lands for life-gain and vanilla taplands will probably put you a turn slower, mess up your fixing once in a while, and make your checklands a lot worse - but then it feels like it comes down to what kind of mana base your opponents have.

I've thought about the dinosaurs :-) It looks like right now there are only 11 to think about though (Pangosaur and Frenetic Raptor are bad). So you'd need something else to round it out (are dragons still close enough in flavor? beasts?). And even then a lot of them really want more dinosaurs, and if those aren't there are even more behind the best angels and dragons. I'm toying with the idea of Samut as a commander for dinos so that you can use the lower power ones, they get haste, and with a sword or two you have a commander damage threat too.

What are your dino plans?

I honestly have to agree with your Samut idea. That gives plenty more support to an aggressive strategy, which they clearly favor. Mayael could also run beautifully in the 99 there, if only to grab blockers as fast-effects. I do think using the legend-dino is a bit risky for its high cost and mandatory Voltron style, so Samut would happily blend the styles! It's looking like they also have a self-damage subtheme, so mana-reduction stuff fits in for expendable early-game advantage, a la Champion of Rhonas and Elvish Piper.
