While playing UW control is fun (cause everyone hates it and you), it can be boring cause no one is really losing anything but time. Mardu control, however, doesn’t have this issue cause you make your opponents bleed in both resources and life.

The goal of the deck is two fold. First you want to control the board by making people question if they want to casts spells. This is done primarily through cards like Kaervek the Merciless and Kambal, Consul of Allocation. If they have paid the price for the spell, if it’s a permanent then they will undoubtedly have to pay later for it cause Mogis requires either a sacrifice or life. Now comes the second point of the deck. If you’re control going well, and the board is fairly shut down, then cast Approach of the Second Sun and use Mathas’s Bounty Counters to draw your way to victory!
