Mono Blue Devotion was long overdue for a facelift.

Kiora and her followers have turned green into the perfect splash color to deliver a world of hurt. At it's core it has fast ramp, a low curve and a ton of stopping power. On turn 3, it consistantly drops Master Biomancer or Kiora, the Crashing Wave. With the Biomancer, Master of Wave's elementals become huge, and even if the Master of Waves gets Chained to the Rocks, the elementals remain.

When Kiora, the Crashing Wave drops turn three, you can ramp in a pinch - otherwise it's a race to lay Kraken eggs.

The key that binds it all together is the Simic Charm. This deck uses all three of its abilities extremely well. The creature bounce to protect Planeswalkers, Hexproof is crucial in stopping Detention Sphere, and the +3/+3 has a surprising side effect. Sure you can stomp down creatures when green tries to pick a fight, but by boosting Master Biomancer before playing Master of Waves, your Elementals are big enough to stare down even Polukranos, World Eater.

Sylvan Caryatid is one of the most useful cards ever, and when paired with Nightveil Specter, suddenly you can really use your opponent's deck against them.

When facing U/W Control, Kiora, the Crashing Wave, Gainsay and Negate replace Master Biomancer, Domestication and three of the Master of Waves. Making creatures huge is pointless against Supreme Verdict and Fated Retribution. However, they can only look in in horror as wave after wave of Kraken s descend upon them...

But, what about Elspeth, Sun's Champion? You might ask. Her soldiers can block Krakens all day long! She can even board wipe all the Kraken s!

Enter Thassa, God of the Sea suddenly, your 9/9's are unblockable. Game. Over.
