I've liked Merieke for a long time. When I first heard about EDH, I immediately thought of three legendary creatures I wanted to build around. Merieke was one of them.

This isn't my first version, and probably won't be the last. Some of my pet cards may be sub-optimal, such as Triad of Fates, who can draw cards for me by exiling Merieke's hapless victims, or even blink Merieke to dodge removal. Another pet card is Shade's Form. I love the art and flavor of the card, and I think it suits Merieke. If I enchant a creature she's controlling, untapping her will destroy the creature, and Shade's Form returns that creature to my control indefinitely. Fool's Demise does the same thing, and it's reusable. Unhallowed Pact has the same effect, but Shade's Form just feels right.

With Zur the Enchanter fishing out tap/untap effects, Mangara of Corondor and King Macar, the Gold-Cursed fit right in. Sydri, Galvanic Genius can animate Darksteel Ingot and Darksteel Pendant for indestructible shenanigans. She can even allow Merieke to steal artifacts! Brago, King Eternal blinks artifacts that create mana or untap creatures, or creatures that have ETB triggers, and he can blink Merieke if I have no way to untap her. If she has anything under her spell when she blinks, Lazav, Dimir Mastermind can become them when they return to their owner's control and are subsequently destroyed.
