Hello and welcome to my build of Queen Marchesa. This deck is a flexible Mardu control deck which relies on versatility, politics and cheap efficient threats to control and win the game. This is a deck that doesn’t win the game early - but is designed to disrupt your opponents’ plans while gaining more resources and options to secure your win.

The games that you can expect to play with this deck will be highly interactive and often down to the wire - never boring! This isn’t a linear deck - every game will be different. This deck is what I like to call the 100% 75% deck. It doesn't do anything unfair; it doesn't employ any infinite combos and it largely lets other players play their decks, but it is 100% built to be strong and earn every win.

…you enjoy attacking with a 50/50 Dragon with trample, haste, indestructible, hexproof and horsemanship.

...you enjoy straightforward play.

...you enjoy tripling your mana or ramping for a million lands.

...you enjoy running infinite combos.

This deck is all about playing lean and mean and provoking your opponents to make decisions that benefit you.

This deck is also a long term altering project with my end goal being having the entire deck altered - including the basic lands. I do the alters myself so its often whenever I feel in the mood to paint. There have been a few times when I have had 100% of the cards altered, but as I am constantly adding and taking out cards currently it is probably sitting at 80% altered.

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. These are my thoughts on some of the new cards from the recent Innistrad sets.

Enduring Angel  Flip

I’m going to try and find a place for this card as I think its super powerful and slots in well with our deck. The body isn’t huge, however the double strike goes well with our equipment package and effects such as Agitator Ant and Breena, the Demagogue. When she flips we also have the option to bounce and flip back with Eldrazi Displacer to regain the ability to not die in one shot if we need it. The triple W cost is a little prohibitive but we have a strong land base and good mana rocks.

Sungold Sentinel

I really like this card, both as utility with graveyard disruption and evasion. The card is a little expensive to activate every turn, and who knows how often we will even be able to activate with 2 additional creatures with different powers as a restriction. Like it, but not good enough to run.

Vanquish the Horde

I really like Blasphemous Act and I really like this card. I think I prefer Blasphemous Act in this deck just a little more as I can protect my own creatures from the wipe a little easier with protection from Red. A nice addition to white in commander though.

Welcoming Vampire

Great card, but would only be in the deck for card draw, and we don’t have enough ways to abuse it - ie creating 2 power creatures on our opponents’ turns. Another good card draw addition to white nevertheless.

Cemetery Gatekeeper

An early version of this deck was group slug and burn, in which case the card would be an auto include. Burning both land drops and another spell type is extremely strong but doesn’t fit into our current build.
