Hello! And thanks for coming!I have gotten the idea of building an EDH deck revolving around Maralen of the Mornsong and her tutoring ability. This deck will play more like a Toolbox deck than anything else. It is very versatile, allowing you to do some (minor) control, lock-out boards, gain some life, and beat people's faces in with large creatures and lots of tokens. This deck uses a lot of the cards from the 2014 Commander deck, Sworn to Darkness, for accessibility.

Breakdown

The Creatures

Demon of Wailing Agonies - The Primary damage dealer, as it is a 6/6 flyer AND kill creatures.

Grave Titan - A 6/6? That's a tiny guy in commander. 3 Turns Later- "HELP! I'm getting run over by a million zombies!"

Platinum Angel and Abyssal Persecutor - Boardlocking guys. The Angel is for panic and the Persecutor is when I want to mess around.

Erebos, God of the Dead - Another great guy that locks down the board. And he's indestructible, which is always nice.

Gray Merchant of Asphodel - A great finisher, and combos nicely with Exquisite Blood .

Tokens?!

A strong theme of this deck is tokens, and they do win a lot.

Ghoulcaller Gisa - Nothing says tokens like good 'ol Gisa. Combos nicely with Dark Depths , as it can make a 20/20 creature into 20 2/2s.

Dark Depths + Vampire Hexmage - A 20/20 on turn 3? Yes, PLEASE!

Blasting Station - A good sacrifice engine if you need to get those last bits of damage in.

Removal/Reanimator

This is mono-black. I kill your creatures. I take your creatures. I will bash your skull in with your creatures.

Dread Return - Great if my main face-bashers are in the yard. Plus flashback.

Soul of Innistrad - Reusable reanimate 3 for 5 mana? I'll take it!

Empty the Pits - Turns spells in the yard into zombies!

Lifegain

Since Maralen of the Mornsong's tutoring ability will take our life, we need some way to get it back. Exquisite Blood seems to do the trick.

Consume Spirit - Lots of land+This=Lots of life.

Protection/Control

Withering Boon - Uhhh...counterspell?

Swiftfoot Boots - Hexproof? I thought that was Blue!

Maralen of the Mornsong + Ob Nixilis, Unshackled + Teferi's Puzzle Box - Provides a soft lock on the board that can really pack a punch.

Backup

Quick! Our Commander has been tucked! What do we do without her tutoring ability?

Use the the 3 tutors in the deck!
