Managorger Hydra isn't the only creature that loves mana. Nissa, Vastwood Seer   is also a fan of lands.

(I find it weird that managorger hydra's strength has absolutely nothing to do with mana, just sayin')

Anyway, ramp up so you have plenty of mana to play your ramps and buffs to keep growing the hydra and flip Nissa when you can. A flipped Nissa's +1 will help keep your hand full of spells to buff your hydra and can be a wincon by herself.
