This is a combo deck relying on cheating giant monsters into play through various methods, creatures and artifacts alike to stop most single cards from screwing over the combo every time.
Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, and Progenitus are the win conditions. Two of them are legendary, however, since just one is a win condition it doesn't matter too much.
Deathrender, Quicksilver Amulet, Elvish Piper and
Summoner's Egg
help sneak the win condition cards into play.
Sylvan Caryatid, Overgrown Battlement, and
Vine Trellis
are mana ramp and defenders to bring out the sneak cards in quicker, as well as being targets for Deathrender.
Starved Rusalka
, and Miren, the Moaning Well are there for sacrificing creatures for Deathrender and
Summoner's Egg
, allowing those cards to trigger.
Fauna Shaman allows for a slower, but more consistent combo if it is played.
Example:
Turn 1: Play Forest.
Turn 2: Play Forest. Pay two for Sylvan Caryatid.
Turn 3: Play Forest. Pay four for Quicksilver Amulet.
Turn 4: Pay four for Quicksilver Amulet's effect, bringing boss monster out. Win.
In terms of plays, losing some mana ramp slows the strategy by one turn, and any of the card-bringer cards can be substituted for
Summoner's Egg
.
Claws of Gix
or Miren, the Moaning Well is not necessary for half of them.
The deck consistently gets out the boss monster on turns four to six.
Sideboard breakdown:
Acidic Slime for anything I need to remove in order for my creatures to survive.
City of Solitude against blue counterspells.
Time of Need
to replace Blightsteel Colossus if his indestructible can be dealt with.
Naturalize for anything I need to remove in order for my creatures to survive.
Predator Ooze
as a failsafe for decks that slow me down.
All comments and suggestions and +1's are appreciated, especially seeing as though I'll likely try to assemble this and try my hand at a tournament. I am unsure about my sideboard; anything that could be suggested on that front would be appreciated.
