All Tapped Out —July 1, 2018

I have been wanting to keep everything updated—reply to comments, update primers, update deck lists and/or art—for some time now, but life has always come first and I haven't had the time that I once had to dedicate solely to Tapped Out and to Magic.

For awhile now all of this has become more tedious, mostly because of my lack of time and prioritization of other things. I still play, and I will continue to update my decks and add new ones, but I am writing this to let everyone know that I will be doing all of that at my own pace and on my own time. That may be months later, but it will happen...if I feel the desire to do so.

I am sure I will continue deck cycling as I always have, mainly because I have been doing that routinely for years now. So you'll still see me around from time to time, sort of. Long and the short of it, thank you all for the support and inquiries over the years. Feel free to still comment and whatever else, I do see it, but I am not able to communicate as I once did. I hope you all understand.

Been a big fan, you helped shape my Purphoros deck and it's so much fun! i also have a Nizzix deck glad to see you're enjoying it as much as me!

Thank you and sorry for the late response, Lunarcaster! Tapped Out was having some issues with me trying to reply to comments, but I wanted to say how that truly mean so much to me! I am glad you like playing Purph, and I can definitely say that Mizzix is just as fun, if not more.

Stay tuned in for any future changes, big and small! :)

Sick deck, I play Mizzix as well but less counters and more big flashy spells.

Have you considered Baral, Chief of Compliance? Seems like he would fit in well with all your counter magic.

@hardhitta71194

Honestly, Baral, Chief of Compliance is strictly better than Goblin Electromancer; being easier to cast and adding card draw...

BUT, Electromancer is a pet card of mine. The flavor is on point so much that I passed on Baral...

All that aside, Baral really should just go right in for Electromancer. I just dont think I have the heart to do it. ;)

I can understand that, I have plenty of u/r pet cards that have strictly better versions!

I'm now really reconsidering Baral, Chief of Compliance...

Curse you, hardhitta71194...haha. I know he should just take out Electromancer, but I dont want that and I don't want a side board just so I don't have to "actually" cut a card...

So long story short!: I will look for a lesser synergistic card and make the swap (hopefully).

My thought as of right now is Fuel for the Cause? Great card, but if it isn't cost reduced then it's garbage in a highly competitive meta...do you have any suggestions for cut(s)?

Yeah I run both in my Mizzix deck but I have a large number of high cost spells, you have more cheap stuff. Also my meta isnt very competitive.

Fuel for the Cause seems like most of the time it would just be a 4 mana counter. I could see swapping those out!

Hi, just wanted to say that I really like this list!

And I have a question, how is Windfall working for you in this Deck?

I took it out since I figured I'd probably be the one with the most cards in hand because of numerous draw spells..

Sorry for the late reply, arrgentum! I think it is still really useful in a deck like this. Windfall can almost act like a tutor by pitching the cards in hand for those combo pieces or win cons.

I would use it if there is some specific card you are aiming to get with your deck, just because it lets you cycle your deck very efficiently. Hope that helps!

Yo freakingShane what set are those basics from? I gotta get some of those. Are they hard to find?

They were a series of promotional cards called Magic Premier Shop, hardhitta71194. For a few years they made unique Japanese foils that matched the current sets to get people into Magic, I believe.

They are really hard to find nowadays, so they are around $20-40 per land...but they are so flavorful and cool because of the rarity!

Boseiju, Who Shelters All?

Side note: If you could squeeze in more colour mana rocks (coalition relic, chromatic lantern), you can go infinite with Capsize and just bounce the opponents out of the game. ;)

Sorry for my late response, guys!

@Xinofos:

I like Boseiju, but not for this deck, ironically. Since it comes in tapped and only adds colorless, which Mizzix discounts, I don't think it makes the cut. As for mana rocks, I plan on picking myself up a foil Mox Amber as soon as possible. ;)

@n0bunga:

That is a huge honor coming from you.

Thank you! Show

@mintymustache:

That is absolutely amazing! I am definitely using that, thanks so much! :)

Very competitive without being broken. I like it a lot. There's plenty of ways to play around your commander not sticking to the board and late game you can build up experience quickly to win that way anyway.

I was surprised not to see Gush on your list. Quick draw and that 4th counter as well as a way to draw out without using mana for your Enter the Infinite+Laboratory Maniac. Also, is there a reason you like Desperate Ritual over Seething Song? It seems to me that the Song gets you moving faster as 2 counters means your first reiterate costs 3 (going to 3 experience counters after Song is cast) still netting the one. Even with only One experience, you're looking at CMC 2 for Song and and 4 for Reiterate (wholy less than ideal, but still possible where as Ritual would get stuck here).

Finally, A lot of your win cons are 3 CMC. Have you considered Drift of Phantasms? It seems like an innocuous card, but as a nearly uncounterable tutor for Reiterate or Blue Sun's Zenith, it has done great work for me in my Oona, Queen of the Fae combo deck.

Keep up the great work! +1
