Why Jor Kadeen?:

Jor Kadeen (JK) was created due to a vacuum in token-based aggro strategies in my playgroup and the consistent lack of respect for Boros colors in general around the table.

How to Play/Philosophy of Deck Show

How to Play:
In short. Load up the field with the most threats in the shortest time you can, and then deal a lethal blow to your opponents in the combat phase while there are little resources yet in the game. If the game goes longer, try and reset it with Land destruction backed up by your Mana Rocks.

Philosophy:
Commander is a format of ramp, draw, and tutor effects. This comfortably places as king. This is reinforced by the socially perpetuated - and honestly irritating - Commander "social contract" that states that the most powerful Commander effects that white and red share, land destruction and controlling the red zone, aren't "fun" for everyone. Why is it that every type of permanent in the game is okay to destroy, but lands are a "No-no"? This Marshmallow mindset is what has caused standard to fall to the wayside in recent years and everything to become midrange hybrids.

Entitlement is a dangerous thing, ladies and gentlemen.

• You are good at not being a patronizing sore winner, as respect is important when playing Mass Land Destruction

• You like using your entire forearm to turn tokens sideways


• Someone just built Atraxa, Praetors' Voice "Superfriends" and you're not a fan of the Jace-tice League

The Name of the Deck

The deck name is based off the Trump slogan, drawing parallels between how the Phyrexian menace invades and infects Mirrodin and Political Correctness, Virtue Signalling, and Victim Empowerment have infected The United States. But political grandstands aren't what this site is for, so I'll leave it at that!

Win Conditions

Redzone

The main way to win with this deck is to bludgeon your opponent with super inspired soldiers under the leadership of Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer. With 4 simple 1/1 Soldiers on board, swinging with all 5 creatures and metalcraft active is 28 damage.

Armageddon/Ravages of War

Resolving an Armageddon or Ravages of War with a token generator is often enough to take over the board. This isn't a win condition, so much as a Trump card. After casting this with an Assemble the Legion in play, for example, it'll be hard for the opponent to stabilize.

"The Lieutenants"

The cards listed under "The Lieutenants" section can run away with the game with a few tokens in play if left alone. The powerspike is mulitplicative if one of them is in play alongside another or JK. Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Aurelia, the Warleader, and Iroas, God of Victory make combat consistently harder each time they're in play for a combat phase.

Found the first template for deck creation that's ever resonated with me.

While reading the /r/MagicTCG and /r/CompetitiveEDH subreddits, I came across the "8x8 Theory for EDH". This deck follows that theory. Start with one Commander and pick 8 themes that you want to present in the deck (for example "Mana Rocks" or "Card Draw"). After you've chosen 8 themes, find 8 cards in each category. 8x8=64, and now you've got 64 (+1 Commander) = 65 cards. The remaining 35 cards are lands! It's a pretty simple idea, but a template was a nice scaffolding device as I already had experience with cards that I liked, and knew what effects I'd prefer to include for my themes.
