Maybeboard

Forwarning!: this deck has a fairly large number of triggers and counters to keep track of. Heed the title.

This started as a basic, budget build for Ezuri. Most of the contents were obtained from the Atraxa and Ezuri precons. It has started to grow beyond that, however, particularly with the most recent upgrades.

The deck focuses on small creatures with high utility, and various protective spells designed to protect Ezuri and your board. After collecting enough experience counters, it's a simple matter to pump one of your creatures into a massive threat.

The deck also has a lot of card draw in it. In games where the pace is slower and you have trouble killing opponents quickly, out-valuing your opponent's through card advantage can sometimes help.

Some interesting cards;

Animation Module: and Durable Handicraft: Animation Module is a great way to get additional experience counters for a low cost; either make some servos, or spend mana you were leaving open for a counterspell to proliferate yourself. The two of them together make a non-infinite combo that can be useful for filling your board and getting experience

Cauldron of Souls and Devoted Druid: +1 and -1 counters cancel each other out, so these cards can have their downsides mitigated if used in conjunction with a big buff.

Cultivator of Blades: This card gives you three triggers for experience counters. More importantly, the Cultivator can cause your board to swing for absolutely absurd amounts. Get 6 +1 counters on it, and suddenly your opponent is staring down 2 8/8 servos and a Cold-eyed Selkie that draws you 8 cards.

Ixidron: all face-down creatures keep their counters. When timed correctly, Ixidron can swing the board greatly in your favor.

Plaxcaster Frogling: This can help protect your board, and also can provide counters to creatures that normally might not be worth it (like Ezuri himself). Fun fact, can also give your opponents' creatures shroud.

Other Notes: I usually differentiate between Ezuri's triggers with "experience trigger" (gaining experience) and "Ezuri trigger" (moving to combat and placing counters). If it comes up, make sure you have different colors of dice for -1 and +1 counters.

The budget: This deck has room for both downgrades and upgrade, depending on one's needs.

Downgrades: Devoted Druid > any mana dork. Deepglow skate > any proliferate card. Cyclonic rift > its cheaper version from Modern Master 2017, or a different board bounce like Aetherspouts. Snapcaster / Disallow > any counterspell

Upgrades: the main spot to add more upgrades would be the land base. I intentionally used mostly basic lands and other cheap things to make the mana base affordable (and to have more targets for fertilid). I am also going to slowly be adding more things to the Maybeboard as I test the deck out.

Updates Add

Plaxmanta > Snapcaster

Llanowar Elves > gyre Sage

Aspect of Mongoose > Heroic Intervention

Lifecrafter's Gift > Disallow

Nature's Way > Loxodon Warhammer

Mystic Genesis > Disdainful Stroke

Evacuation > Strata Dancer

Cutting Board: Vigor (the deck doesn't have any problem winning combat, and Vigor draws attention to itself), Zoetic Cavern (Was intended to be a way to get a creature instead of a land drop, a cycle land will likely do the same thing).
