So you might be wondering... What the heck am I looking at?! Well just take a deep breath and let me explain:

So while Erebos can be ridiculously good as a control commander, there is a strategy that synergizes more around the commander, although it might not be as straightforward.

Since Erebos makes opponents' life totals only go down, this makes the strategy of attrition more viable. Unfortunately, this strategy is way too slow, even for commander, so Sorin Markov helps bring the life totals WAAAY down so that the attrition effects can take over from there. In addition, Soul Conduit, Mirror Universe , Magus of the Mirror, and even Repay in Kind can be used with pain outlets to "gift" opponents your life total (and what's convenient is that Erebos is a pain outlet too, although the slowest in the deck).

Five cards. Five cards that are the weird win con...Yeah... We need more consistency so... TUTORS TUTORS TUTORS!!!

Oops, went too low? Platinum Angel, Lich's Mirror, Eternity Vessel, Golden Urn , Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond, and Lich can keep you alive. Funny things happen when everyone hits 0 together while you have a Lich's Mirror.

But my favorite interaction of all is playing Lich then Repay in Kind. Is it expensive? Without a doubt! But it must be oh so satisfying...
