Progenitus swapped out for Maelstrom Archangel due to the reduced mana cost and overall increased utility.

Edit 9-June-2016: Just to reiterate from the comments below, I am aware that Maelstrom Archangel is not legendary. If I were to roll with this deck in a "real" tournament, I would obviously go back to using Progenitus.

I originally got this idea from a friend who would occasionally play with us at a store we frequented.

There are several silly things to do with this deck (even though it mostly just durdles):

Maelstrom Archangel on your turn five, then swing on the next turn around and maybe jam something amazing like Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker, Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, or maybe even Sorin Markov. That last one though, that won't make you any friends.

Ideally, you'll want to have Doubling Season on the board before you cast Narset Transcendent, Teferi, Temporal Archmage, Venser, the Sojourner, and/or Jace, Unraveler of Secrets. That's not to say the other planeswalkers in the deck don't have threatening limit breaks, but these are the most annoying (and shut down some decks). I'm not against finding a spot for Karn Liberated, but most of my games with this deck have been relatively non-competitive, so I'm not terribly concerned with obtaining one at the moment.

The mana base isn't much of an issue at all. I have yet to really run into an issue where I couldn't cast something by turn three or four. Most big threats can be handled relatively easily, although the only thing missing is a counterspell which I have yet to find myself in a position to really need one. There are four basic lands in the mana base just in case something (or someone) is hit with Path to Exile.

Update 30-May-2016:Caved in and added Karn, along with a few bounce lands.
