Trying to upgrade an older standard deck to modern. Very much a KISS deck (keep it simple stupid)

3 very simple strategies:

With Lifelink cats and Ajani's Welcome, gain life faster that your opponent can drain it and build a few large Ajani's Pridemate.

With Regal Caracal or Pride Sovereign, equiped with Helm of the Host and Anointed Procession out, generate a swarm of 1/1 kittens that can quickly grow into an unstoppable army.

Get emblems from Nissa, Vital Force and Huatli, Radiant Champion and draw into whatever card you want.

Naturally, if you want to swing for fatal with big Ajani's Pridemates or an army of kittens, you want a bit of evasion in the form of Heroic Intervention to get over most board-wipes. Path to Exile is always useful creature removal. The mana ramp gained from Cryptolith Rite will just help keep things going.
