Dirty Jund

Hey man, with all the different jund decks flying around, you should take a gander at mine as well. I saw your comment from an hour ago, and you are correct with the Chandra, the Firebrand use. She is amazing and serves a very strong role in jund. Copying spells like Dreadbore , Farseek , rakdos return, and most importantly, Slaughter Games . She is devistating, and i would use her over Vraska the Unseen 10 out of 10 times.

oops, card:Rakdos's Return link fail..

Yeah, I'm considering taking out the keyrunes for 2x Chandra, the Firebrand . I guess that means I'll also have to add Slaughter Games to my maindeck, for more juicy targets for copying. Damn, I'll be heavy on the 4-spot.. :/

Rakdos Keyrune is a must keep. you need the ramp in this deck to play your better cards faster, and keep control of the board. I dont mainboard any Slaughter Games , but rather, save them for game two to call out what i lost to, or was scared by, the first game.

and +1 for using jund with the hilarious reference. :D

I guess you're right. I'd also miss Rakdos Keyrune and Kessig Wolf Run combining to make a huge trampling and first striking dude after a boardwipe..

I take it you haven't had great use of Vraska the Unseen ? Because I've had great mileage from that card whenever she went on the field. Worst case scenario, she's a 5 mana Vindicate , best case, she wins you the game.

Oh, i have used her. I used to run 3 in my deck at the beginning of the release. (pulled a bunch from boxes :D) However, she felt way to slow, and if i were to use her +1, my opponent(s) (who at the time was running aggro) would just be like "Fine, i'll just attack you then." and eat me alive.

However, at that time, 90% of everyone and their mothers were running aggro, a few months later to today, it seems everyone at my store is at the midrange or control. Vraska the Unseen might be a little better now, but ive grown really accustomed to Chandra, the Firebrand and Garruk, Primal Hunter . The duo is crazy stupid. Draw 3 or more with Garruk, Primal Hunter , find a deadly spell to copy with Chandra, the Firebrand has been a combo that has proved incredible, and i'd hate to part with it.

But... i have also considered making this jund into a jund superfriends. Adding Vraska the Unseen , Garruk Relentless  Flip , and maybe Liliana of the Veil to make this deck super fun. But im not sure yet.

I'll take this deck to FNM next friday, where I'll post a match report. I'm kinda fearing a switch towards more aggro-decks in my meta, however..

What would you suggest taking out for 2x Chandra, the Firebrand ?

December 5, 2012 3:45 p.m.

Vos_Is_Boss says... #10

Well, if your meta is moving towards more aggro, i would consider taking out 1 Duress , because you have no 4-of's in your sideboard, and 1 Searing Spear or 1 Garruk, Primal Hunter , 3 green mana looks like it would be tough to get with your deck, or 1 Ultimate Price because its not good enough when you need it :P

If you want a Chandra, I would drop a Duress and either a rakdos return or Vraska the Unseen . Without mana ramp, the earliest you can expect to get use out of Chandra will be turn 5, which is the turn you can turn out Vraska, or Garruk. The question then becomes, what is the more important effect? Copying a spell, a vindicate, or making a 3/3?

Against aggro, Chandra isn't that great, as there aren't many creatures to have to block for the turn you play her. I'd suggest siding her for this reason, but the choice is yours .

Good luck with your FNM. I'm very curious to the results.

I might have to rework the whole deck to make Chandra a more prominent figure in it. I do have a little bit of mana ramp in the deck in the form of Farseek .

Insanerabbit, your question of what's more important is quite hard to answer, since it obviously depends on the situation. I think that's why I want to have Chandra in the deck. It's more tools in the toolbox, which is a thing I absolutely love!

I think I'll cut 1 Duress and 1 Searing Spear for the two Chandra's during this FNM. If I don't like the results, then.. At least I tried ;)

I'd hardly call this "your" FNM deck, as it seems to be pretty much everyone's FNM deck.

I'd invest in something more original.

Vos_Is_Boss says... #14

I'd hardly call that an appropriate comment, FROZR2.

This is his version, and is run according to his desires.

December 6, 2012 2:25 p.m.

Deetoz says... #15

Yeah, because nobody plays G/W aggro, Bant Control, USA miracles, Zombies, Monored aggro, Naya midrange, UW Flash or Dirty Red. It's all Jund. I totally see that.Your comment isn't helpful. It's quite insulting actually.

December 6, 2012 2:42 p.m.

Lustrigia says... #16

Look I'm sorry, but it is what it is: this is not your deck. Changing one or two cards here and there won't change that.

Facts are facts: Jund is pretty much the most run deck.

December 6, 2012 2:47 p.m.

Deetoz says... #17

I don't know about your meta, but I'm the only Jund player at my store. Control is the big thing at my usual store.

But seriously, do you usually comment on decks and give them shit for playing the strongest cards in their colors? Fact is, this Jund list is very different from the top Jund lists, those that are winning events and so on.

December 6, 2012 3:12 p.m.

Lustrigia says... #18

Yes. Tappedout.com is to try new innovative things, not regurgitate overpowered decks we've all seen before.

Out of curiousity, I'll bite: how is this different to traditional Jund?

December 6, 2012 3:18 p.m.

Raxin says... #19

Bwhahahah. @FROZR2 has a point, there does seem to be alot of these Jund decks, especially on tapped out. But the comment is way out of line. @Deetoz keep doing your thing.

Reality is, we are all getting idea from each other and the strongest deck lists rise to the top. So as the meta plays out, alot of people will start playing the same type of decks. Calm down.

Which I hate lol, creativity is dead in games like these.

Go cry somewhere? It is the reality, you can't do a thing about it.

All I need to do is make a better deck. Which I have done already.

December 6, 2012 3:30 p.m.

Raxin says... #24

Haha. Now there is a more positive outlet for your time and energy. Stick to that rather than crying and being a dick to other people on tappedout.net.

I'm dehydrated from all the crying all I've been doing.
