This deck is inspired by one of my favorite legacy decks Grexis Delver. So when I got my hands on a The Locust God the brewing began.

I started by looking through every draw card imaginable to compile my list. Immediately it became evident that I was gonna need some kind of system to sort these. So I made 5 categories. ( <1, -1, 0 , +1, >1 ) Basically I wanted to know what kept my hand natural, what was giving and what was stealing from hand size. So cards like Faithless Looting were out.

I also tried to remove any infinite combo. Not what this brew is about. Although I do think that Kindred Discovery will have a place in this deck. It just feels too good in this deck. Dumb and clumsy like a locust god should be.

After some play tests my first version felt slow and cards like Baral, Chief of Compliance were not hitting the right spots. Aswell Arcanis the Omnipotent was too bulky to cast and would happen at the same time I would want to play my commander.

I removed a bunch of high end stuff and loaded it with crappy mana rocks. Ahh much better. But now the problem was that I was more or less a sitting duck until I can resolve a locust god. Cue the removal. Cut even more high end stuff.

Skullclamp to fill hand, then explode a Whirlpool Drake with Collective Defiance. Let the fun begin.
