The objective of this deck is to get The Locust God out, protect him, and make a ton bugs.

How to Play the Deck Show

Had this happen once, but this is a perfect example of how this deck can go off.

1. Turn 1 – Play a Island, Sol Ring, and a Fellwar Stone
2. Turn 2 – Top Deck a Grim Monolith. Play the Grim Monolith and Mountain. Cast The Locust God
3. Turn 3+ – Protect The Locust God and get the draw engine going

Custom Grouping Show

1. Ramp - Anything to get me ahead on mana
2. Protection - This deck revolves around The Locust God I need to keep him on the board
3. Draw - Card advantage and makes bugs
4. Support - Makes the overall deck stronger, provides alternate paths to victory, or graveyard recycling
5. Removal - To get something out of the way
6. Counter - Protection for the The Locust God and keep things from getting silly if the meta is competitive
7. Sideboard - I swap these cards in and take the Counter category out to de-tune my deck for a more casual meta

Win Conditions Show

1. Combat damage with the Insect Tokens
2. Direct damage with Purphoros, God of the Forge and Impact Tremors
3. Milling myself out with all the draw and wheel Laboratory Maniac

FLGS League Point System Show

This will be my primary deck in a FLGS league where everyone goes for the points, with winning only normally happening after all the positive points have been acquired. Meta is a 6 to an 8 on a scale of 10 due to the point system.

Positive Points - All but the first one are drawn randomly from the top of a deck with 4 showing:

1. First to attack someone and do damage
2. Do 10 damage to a player (2 of these are in the deck)
3. Destroy a land with an ability other than mana
4. Attack each player in the pod (2 of these are in the deck)
5. Play the 4th spell this turn
6. Play 3 different permanents this turn
7. Exile 2 cards from the field or 5 from the graveyard
8. Exile/Counter/Destroy a 6CMC or greater card
9. Cause another player to draw or gain life
10. Destroy Weekly Target - Typically a staple like Sol Ring or Reliquary Tower

Negative Points - Gets assigned/earned whenever you do one of following:

1. Killing anyone before turn 5
2. Looping anything more than 4 times
3. Destroying more than 2 lands for any one player
4. Take more than 2 turns in a row
