Living Void Explosion V2.0

Modern* BRG (Jund) Combo Living End

Gunz13

Sideboard

1) Original piloted deck had Kari-Zev

  • After a month of play testing, Kari-Zev was too slow and costly. It was seldom the case that I had both Living End and Kari-Zev in my hand at the same time.
  • Deck was not fast. I was averaging a turn 4 Living End cast.

2) Cut Fulminator Mages

  • Cycles slow. Although the cost was not that prohibitive, it still slowed my Living End cast, especially without Simian Spirit Guide.
  • Very situational. After a month of play testing, Fulminator Mages only really affected slower decks.

3) Madcap Explosion + Platinum Emperion

  • Added another tool against quick decks or burn.
  • This does slow the deck down. There are less creature slots.
  • Playtesting this combo has led to interesting results.

4) Slaughter Games

  • This is an interesting choice to deal with reoccurring counter problems.
  • Originally meant to be a more powerful option over Beast Within against enchantments.
  • Needs more testing to see how useful it will be. Some have suggested Pithing Needle as a faster option (although much more circumstantial).

5) Leyline of the Void

  • Not yet tested. This was a recommendation by another player.
  • Will be useful against combo decks that use the graveyard (there are many right now!). Makes Faerie Macabres expendable.
