This is a list of important cards for stax and group slug EDH decks.

Stax decks aim to punish opponents for taking actions. Attrition is a primary component of the stax strategy.

Because it is sometimes difficult to separate stax from tax, this list also includes some tax effects that are not "true" stax effects. That is, these cards force opponents to pay for certain effects, but they aren't necessarily attrition oriented. Some of these effects fall under the group slug strategy, which aims to slow the game down and impede progress.
