Liquimetal Coating decks are fun, but I think they are inconsistent due to opponents just destroying Liquimetal Coating or it not coming up when needed. Since it destroys land one at a time only, it also can be overrun by low mana cost creature decks.

I have tried to make a more versatile deck using Glissa, the Traitor. This gives 2 separate parallel paths to destroy permanents. For aggro opponents, you can set up a repeated creature slaughter. For opponents using control with minimal creatures, attack the land. Or do both! I put this deck together for under $30, but you would be surprised on what it can do against decks that cost much, much more.

Strategy 1: Destroy land

• Liquimetal Coating, Oxidize, Reclamation Sage, etc.,
• Glissa, the Traitor + Lifespark Spellbomb + Thornbite Staff - this kills land as a creature and brings back the spell bomb to your hand afterward (4 mana to kill land each turn)

Strategy 2: Destroy Creatures

• Executioner's Capsule + Glissa, the Traitor - repeat kills
• Glissa, the Traitor + Thornbite Staff - repeat deathtouch kills
• Disfigure just to kill 1 or 2 drops

Synergies (why put them together) -

• Glissa, the Traitor + Liquimetal Coating + Sylvok Replica - repeated creature kills
• Glissa can get Liquimetal Coating back from the graveyard when needed
• Putrefy kills land or creatures in this deck
• Acidic Slime works for land destruction and with Thornbite Staff in place of Glissa
• Glissa, the Traitor blocking ability can allow you time to get enough land destroyed.
• Desecration Demon comes out fast and puts pressure on early making the choice to sacrifice difficult, and is the finisher
