The idea here is to build a fun and approachable entry point to Modern: budget-friendly, easy to pilot, with feel-good abilities. And cats!

Main deck concepts: trade aggressively with Sacred Cat and Pouncer, as they will replace themselves with tokens; use Declarations to clear away big threats and stubborn blockers; and Brave the Elements can be used to save the team from mass burn spells, to allow creatures to block safely, and to bypass some or all blockers when attacking.

Sideboard strategies: Pridemate or Stray swapped for Arbiter frustrates fetch lands and tutor effects; Pridemate or Stray swapped for Relic-Warder & 2 Declarations for Tribunals provides answers to combo pieces; Corrosive Gales (there's enough life gain to absorb the Phyrexian life casting cost) in place of Declarations to deal with flyer-heavy decks; and the Steppes trade in for Plains & Sovereigns for Warleaders when you need a non-combat win condition.
