Modern* BGW (Abzan, Junk) Infinite Combo Lifegain

Nuked all previous comments so we could have a fresh start. I was looking through all the Gatecrash cards that have now appeared and figured I should try and revive this deck as best as possible. It has since moved from a B/W to a B/W/G adding in Thragtusk and Trostani, Selesnya's Voice for some heavy life gain.

Main focus is around 2 cards:
- Vizkopa Guildmage (the second ability) added together with
- Exquisite Blood then all I have to do is gain some life or deal some damage to the other player and BAM! Dead... Nice little combo! Not really a win con but super funny if we can get it going! XD

Maybe I should add in a Boros Reckoner or 2! Haha!

Thoughts and suggestions are always welcome!

I like it! It's a cool idea and I'd love to see it in action.

My question is whether you need Green or not. I know Thragtusk and Deathrite Shaman are awesome, but you could mainboard Blind Obedience and bump up a few others (and if everything taps for white, Boros Reckoner would be awesome!). Being just W/B may make it more consistent and effective at it's combo/purpose, which is basically leaching life from your opponents.

Also, some good B/W control (maybe Liliana of the Veil ) will help stall your opponents allowing you to drop Obzedat, Ghost Council turn 5 with no problem.

Either way - cool deck! Added to my favorites folder

Awesome deck that looks like a lot of fun to play, and frustration for your opponent.

I get why Chalice of Life  Flip is there, but I'm wondering if Blind Obedience would be a better fit, or as you said Boros Reckoner .

Either way +1 from me.

Nice. I've been working on my own brew of this deck, Infinite Lifegain. I will definitely be pulling some suggestions from yours and maybe combining the 2 a bit. I think this is gonna rock.

@bogieman145 I can't believe I forgot about Liliana of the Veil ! Green is really only in here for Thragtusk , card:Trostani, Selesnya's Voice and of course Farseek .

@ Trmiller1326 I think you might be onto something! I love Blind Obedience ! One of the best cards in the set I feel! :D I was thinking about swapping the Sign in Blood for them on the mainboard.

I will try toying around with it a bit and see what I can come up with!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Maybe Sorin, Lord of Innistrad if you go B/W? The lifelink vampires could do some damage. If you get a few they will be scared to attack into you because you can activate guildmage, chump block, and turn the damage around on them?

Very nice combo, I love it. Gain life, lose life, gain life, lose life. Pretty funny infinite combo which literally can't be turned off because the triggers keep looping themselves. +1

I'd drop exquisite blood for two more lands. Otherwise, I really like it. +1

my deck, All this life just weighs me down, uses no such combo, just a preference, but heavy lifegain like card:Heroes' Reunion to get in there for damage with the guildmage. 3 mana for 7 life and damage isn;t bad...

i also run Centaur Healer for the life and sizeable body. Abrupt Decay might be helpful in dealing with the rampant Boros Reckoner . Lingering Souls helps if you're not seeing thundermaws.

I really like this archetype and deck. +1/

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions so far everyone! I have now taken out Lingering Souls and Garruk, Primal Hunter in favor of another Sorin, Lord of Innistrad , Sign in Blood and Abrupt Decay .

I was able to play test this set up tonight and I won 3-0 against a Boros agro. FUN TIMES!!!!

Sanguine Bond functions the same as Vizkopa Guildmage's second ability permanently for the same CMC as to play the guildmage and activate his ability for one turn.

That's true! However Sanguine Bond isn't standard :'( or I would probably use it. Thanks for the idea tho! If I decide to turn this deck modern it'll be one of the first things I add.

Awesome deck man. Kudos. Would you be able to look at my B/W/G Junk deck and maybe make some suggestions? Here is the deck: Beats By: Dr. Wurm.. Also, have you thought of maybe adding in Centaur Healer or Heroes' Reunion ? They are both nice on life gain, the Centaur provides a 3/3 body, and the Reunion can be cast at Instant speed.
