Maybeboard

This deck is primarily built and capitalized on Ayli's abilities to sacrifice all of our creatures. When her card was first released, I was extremely excited, because I had built the new Daxos the Returned and invested in the manabase and some of the less "budgety" enchantments for him. When I got the resources together I was able to purchase a few of the better cards for this deck like Athreos, God of Passage and a few others. Now I've finally outfitted the deck to fit Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim, and it's amazing!

This deck has a lot of token producing sources as well graveyard retrieval and lots of ways to gain life. I also included an area I titled "Sacrifice Matters." I tried to include plenty of creatures that want die and then come back with an ETB ability as well as effects that punish other players when my creatures die. This deck runs more removal than just Ayli's "utter end" effect, partly because I have an Erebos, God of the Dead deck in my playgroup. Cards like Anguished Unmaking, Archon of Justice , and Ashen Rider were auto-includes in an attempt to exile something indestructible when and if I need to.

Underplayed Cards that are great in this deck:

  • Dawn of the Dead FANTASTIC CARD! Recursion every turn (great with ETB effects), and if you can sacrifice or kill the creature that was recurred before your end step, it goes back to the graveyard. It's insane!
  • Righteous Aura A personal pet card for white. For the small price of 1 white mana and 2 life, you can save yourself from massive amounts of damage. It negates commander damage AND infect damage. I put this is every white deck.
  • Blind Obedience Another great white staple. Drop this on turn 2-3, and it will save you from creatures with haste and gains 3-4 life whenever you pay the exploit cost.
  • Emeria Shepherd is a good flavor win card, and can sometimes put it right on the battlefield. This gets nutty with Solemn Simulacrum or Knight of the White Orchid.
  • Cauldron of Souls gets your creatures (and opponent(s)'s of your choice) back after a board wipe.
  • Trading Post does everything this deck wants to do and more.
  • Black Market is broken if people can't/don't get rid of it. I had 20 counters on this once after a board-wipe and then drew Debt to the Deathless. I felt like a god.

I hope everyone enjoys this deck! Please comment with suggestions or ideas from Ayli decks you have played or played against!
