This deck is based on a old 60 card deck I ran when Mist of Stagnation first came out. In that deck I used cycling cards like Undead Gladiator and Gempalm Polluter to fill my yard while making tokens and using Withered Wretch with Web of Inertia and Mist of Stagnation to lock out opponents. This deck has some of those pieces that work in a edh environment but in truth is more of a combo deck with lots of ways to go infinite. The one thing that hasn't changed is the overall goal: fill up the graveyard as fast as possible.

Here are some wincons:

Gravecrawler is a big player in this deck, with Phyrexian Altar it can enable a kill with Tendrils of Agony, Bitter Ordeal and/or Diregraf Captain. This combo also allows for infinite tokens and mana with Diregraf Colossus or with Bridge from Below in the graveyard.

Gravecrawler and Rooftop Storm also allows for infinite mana with Phyrexian Altar or untaps for Grimgrin, Corpse-Born.

Intruder Alarm and Phyrexian Altar go infinite tokens and mana with Ghoulcaller Gisa. The alarm also allows you to go infinite with Phenax, God of Deception and Undead Alchemist depending upon your opponents deck (creature density) and how many zombies you have when it goes online (4 to 5 probably best against most decks).

Lastly we have Retribution of the Ancients and Phyrexian Altar. These two together allow me to infinitely sac and recur any undying creature such as Geralf's Messenger and Geralf's Mindcrusher for the win. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed out allows me to use any Zombie to kill with Diregraf Captain or go infinite mana with Gravecrawler.

Note: Any infinite mana combos with Phyrexian Altar also allow for repeatedly recasting Gisa and Geralf and allowing a zombie to be cast from the graveyard with each new cast.

So you can see there's a few ways to go but ultimately against a Leyline of the Void or similar you're going to be hurting. The two combo enablers Intruder Alarm and Phyrexian Altar are your most important pieces and without both you're just a zombie deck with no fliers so I use the counters only to protect them. Worst case scenario you have three options:

Mist of Stagnation and Withered Wretch or Nihil Spellbomb will lock a player out.

Yawgmoth's Will is the only tech you have to bring back enchantments and artifacts. Even if milled into the graveyard Possessed Skaab / Dralnu, Lich Lord are included with the job of bringing/flashing it back.

2) Traded out Muddle the Mixture for Long-Term Plans and Arcane Denial for Swan Song.

3) Late small update for amonkhet release, Glacial Chasm and Shepherd of Rot out for Plague Belcher and Fetid Pools.
