It turns out that the elder zombies--the liches--like to party together. Here are some of their shenanigans:

Pithing Needle + Phylactery Lich + Soul Ransom - Name "Soul Ransom" for the needle (if there's not some nasty planeswalker on the board). They can no longer pay the ransom! Steal their creature, then beat them with the Phylactery Lich (hereafter known as "Phil") whose immortal is chillin' in the Needle.

Havengul Lich + Lotleth Troll (in your yard) : Pitch cheap zombies to grow the Havengul Lich. Or follow up with our next combo...

Ghoulcaller's Bell + Ghoulcaller's Chant + two Phils in your yard - Get back two 5/5 indestructible zombies, then cast them using the Bell for their phylactery.

Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord + Ghoultree - Call me tree-hugger one more time!

Havengul Lich + Phylactery Lich + Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord - The gang's all here! Activate Havengul to cast Phil from your yard. Sac Phil to Jarad, opponent loses five live. Repeat each turn. More fun than whacking people with a Thragtusk. Am I the only one who's sick of that freaking card?
