FNM Test Run —Oct. 5, 2013

Finally had all the pieces to run this at the FNM I frequent for some actual deck-testing :D Did fairly well (got 3rd). I found out that I use Nightveil Specter A LOT so he went back main. Also deciding to put in the scry land Temple of Deceit since the more scry this deck has, the better it seemed to run. Seeming to have issues getting it to my win-cons within the allotted time limit >_> had two draws in my matches. All in all however it ran fairly well, winning 3 different ways; once with Liliana of the Dark Realms and Mind Grind, once with Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver stealing a creature to win with, and a couple times with AEtherling. Lookin to make the final tweaks before states next week :D

Have you considered Consuming Aberration ?

I'm just wondering what you have a Blood Crypt doing in this deck. Other than that, this looks very promising. You might want to add one or two Lord of the Void s, and maybe Wight of Precinct Six as well. You have a good amount of absorption with your planeswalkers and great control with your instants. How has it done so far?

+1.

@ omniangel93, I have thought about Consuming Aberration for the deck but it seems a little slow; I'd have to mill a little first to have him be decent and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver exiles their graveyard. He is also less difficult to remove than AEtherling .

@ Nalfaro I have the blood crypt in there so I can fetch it with Lili or draw it for the Entering side of Breaking . If I don't have the spell, I can still use it as a swamp at least. Wight of Precinct Six could be a decent choice but it's only good against creature decks, and I believe I have a good handle on creatures, except maybe hexproof ones, so I might switch something out for a few Devour Flesh because lifegain isn't too big of a deal to handle. All in all though it has done pretty well; I have only been able to decktest solo and with a couple friends with recently "modern"-ized decks, so I am not 100% guaranteed as you might understand. I am really confident about it, however, and control is underrated in type-2 gameplay right now, methinks, so I think that this deck will (hopefully) take people by surprise. Also thanks for the +1! :D
