Legions of the Sun God 5-0 FNM

Standard Aggro Competitive FNM Humans Mono-White

Pure aggro madness, this deck lays down the damage and doesn't stop. Each of the 31 creatures works together to help the others get through for sweet sweet damage to the face.

Boros Elite is a great first-turn one-drop, especially if followed by a Mutavault and Imposing Sovereign ... usually spells 7 damage on turn 3. Otherwise, I'm loving the Soldier of the Pantheon as a first-turn winner.

Frontline Medic is key for keeping the aggro-rush alive into the midgame, and Banisher Priest is always a removal godsend.

Curves nicely into Spear of Heliod and Heliod, God of the Sun (with devotion active, most often).

Precinct Captain is absolute value, never upset when I get him on the board. And Brave the Elements is best as a final finisher - you thought you had blockers? No! Also, it can save lives when removal comes around.

Brimaz, King of Oreskos is a newer addition

#2 in tournament @ World's Collide — Nov. 1, 2013

Went 4-1 again at FNM, lost a nasty round against Esper Control.

Round 1, played against Azorius Blue Devotion. Went 2-0, but my opponent made some mistakes which he realized soon after and felt dumb about it. I would probably have been able to pull off the win still.

Round 2, faced Orzhov Black Devotion, and defeated my opponent 2-1. Easy win in the first game as I recall, but the second game, which I lost, was a nail-biter. Blood Baron of Vizkopa was key to his success in that game. Game 3, I curved smoothly into victory.

Round 3, I faced off against Gruul Green Devotion, and despite him having Monstrous Arbor Colossus and Ember Swallower, I just had the tricks to get through, like Heliod and Frontline Medic allowing my forces to attack around the fatties without consequence.

Round 4, Esper Control crushed me two games to none. Both games, it was a Blood Baron of Vizkopa combined with a good suite of removal and countering that destroyed me. Not sure what to to against this deck, but omnipath suggested I try Renounce the Guilds. Also thinking I should have gone with Glare of Heresy to take out Detention Sphere.

Round 5, I went 2-0 against a Red-Black-White Midrange deck that I had faced in the second round of the Sept. 27, 2013 FNM at World's Collide. I had a much easier time of it this time. Second game we went through five straight turns of me playing a creature, him playing removal (Hero's Downfall, Warleader's Helix, Doom Blade), but my creatures kept on coming and he ran out of tricks.

Great night, very happy to get second place!
