Torture

This is one of the most extreme combo decks I have seen for the format. I like to make innovative decks that will make my opponents at FNM will say; "What on earth is he doing?" And hopefully by the end of the match they will say; "Wow this could be something". That "could" is exactly what I am looking for, something inovative, complicated and fun to play

(JOKES ITS REALLY EASY TO PLAY AND YOUR OPPONENTS WONT EVEN BE TALKING, THEY WILL BE SLEEPING FROM BOREDOM).

How to Play the Deck

Hide

  1. Mulligan A LOT. To be able to keep a hand in this deck (pre-board) you must have either a Puresteel Paladin or a Riddlesmith, that is why there are 4 of each and 2 Serum Powder as well. (DO NOT USE SERUM POWDER IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THE 3 COMBO PIECES IN YOUR HAND OR YOU CAN'T WIN). Mulliganing to 3 and finding a Puresteel Paladin or Riddlesmith is way better than keeping a 7 card hand without one.

  2. Cast a turn 2 (hopefully) Puresteel Paladin or Riddlesmith.

  3. GO OFF. You can go off turn 2 after casting a Puresteel Paladin but it is far more reliable to just go off turn 3 because then you have mana up to cast Retracts.

How to GO OFF

Hide

  1. Cast approximately 1,000,000 zero-mana equipment as there are 24 in the deck, every time you cast one you get to draw off one of the humans so you can chain them together and draw your deck.

  2. Once you have your deck in your hand (ALWAYS KEEP ONE CARD IN YOUR LIBRARY) it is time to combo. (If you have a Riddlesmith, try not to discard one of the 3 combo pieces so that you can Tormod's Crypt yourself and speed up the going off process). THE COMBO: Cast Mycosynth Golem for 0 because of affinity, then cast Composite Golem for 0 as well. Then if you don't have a Riddlesmith out you can sacrifice the Composite Golem to cast one now.

  3. Cast any artifact and use only Riddlesmith's trigger to draw the last card in your library and discard Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, respond to the shuffle trigger by sacrificing Composite Golem for 5 mana if you haven't already. Then they shuffle back into your library (and hopefully nothing else if you have Tormod's Crypted yourself).

  4. Cast any artifact and draw one of the 2 cards left in your deck using only Puresteel Paladin's trigger. Then if you drew Composite Golem cast it and if not cast any other artifact, using Riddlesmith's trigger, once again discarding Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and shuffling it back in. Either way you now have Composite Golem on the table now. Then repeat step 3 and 4 until you have infinite mana and cast Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and a Sigil of Distinction for infinite (MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE A CARD LEFT IN YOUR LIBRARY SO YOU DON'T DECK YOURSELF ON YOUR EXTRA TURN).

  5. Take an extra turn. Emrakul, the Aeons Torn gives you an extra turn which you use to equip all of your equipment to it and attack your opponent for infinite. THATS RIGHT Sigil of Distinction ISN'T JUST SCRAP METAL.

Sideboarding

Hide

If your opponent doesn't have much interaction, such as Melira Pod, Tron or... thats about it then you can keep the same 60. In every other matchup where your opponent has Removal, Discard or Counterspells you want to bring in your WHOLE 5 card sideboard. YEAH thats right I never have 15 card sideboard, check out my deck:Transformers Belcher (BREWING IS AN OBSESSION.

-1 Tormod's Crypt

-1 Retract

-3 Sigil of Distinction

+4 Vedalken Archmage (You need more draw guys when your opponent can deal with your creatures)

+1 Nature's Claim (This is how you destroy Stony Silence, Rest in Peace or Relic of Progenitus all of which stop your combo. None of those stop you from drawing your deck, so you can draw to the one copy but you need some way to kill the hatecards before you combo.

Upgrades

If you have the money, you can cut the Mycosynth Golem, Composite Golem, Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and 2 lands for 4 Mox Opals and a Grapeshot which makes going off far more painful for everyone
