Lazav, Dimir Miser

Lazav, Dimir Mastermind So for those who haven't guessed yet this is a budget list. The intent was to create a list under $60.00 that could compete at a semi-competitive multiplayer table. I also tried to add a lot of variety because planeswalkers and removal are just as fun as clones and counters. That being said (after removing basic lands) I came in around $65. The sob story behind why it had to be budget is the same reason a lot of Magic players have but, that is not important. What is important is it was a lot of fun to build and I'm looking forward to playing it and tweaking it. On to the fun stuff!

You will enjoy this commander list if...

1. You like discard and mill
2. You like to be the fun police
3. You like to take/copy other people's shiny things
4. You like having fun on a budget!

You will not enjoy this commander list if...

1. You like playing lots of creatures and smacking things
2. You like degenerate combos
3. You like playing expensive cards
4. You dislike Jace or blue in general

Deck Breakdown

The Commander

Lets examine Lazav, Dimir Mastermind for a minute. for a Hexproof 3/3 already isn't bad but, his ability is where he makes his money. Any creature that hits an opponents graveyard from anywhere Lazav can become a copy, retain hexproof, and retain his ability. Not only does he work great with mill but removal and Windfall effects as well. He also protects himself very well wich is an amazing trait to posses in a multiplayer format.
