Ditch Master of the Wild Hunt for 4x Harrow
. It will accel your mana, pump knight of the reliquary, and set off more landfall triggers.
I don't really need more mana accel.
I still might ditch wild hunt for something else though.
I removed the 4x Master of the wild hunt and instead I added 4x dauntless escort.
Cheap to cast, saves my birds and cobra and also saves me from day of judgment.
You need token generators to feed eldrazi monument. The reason eldrazi green works so well is that it has multiple creature generators and effective mana to cast them fast. Eldrazi Green has Ant Queen
, Master of the Wild Hunt
, Garruk Wildspeaker
, and Nissa Revane
. Your generators either kill themselves by -1 abilities or require landfall. I built a G/U deck like this and I found fast it didn't work. You need ant queen, and/or master of the wild hunt to make this work.
Oh believe me. It works really well with rampaging baloths and emeria angels + knight of the reliquary.
I did add a ant queen to my deck just to test it out but since I only have one, I didn't have the chance to draw it yet even though I played 5-6 games since I added it.
I usually have 5-6 creatures if not more by turn 5 and it's more than enough to drop eldrazi if I have it and win the game right there.
I honestly do not understand why you would not put Harrow in this deck.
The acceleration and mana smoothing are secondary to the fact that 16 of your creatures synergize with it.
Because I already have 8 fetches and knight of the reliquary.
I tested with and without it and I found the vines and paths to be a better use of space than harrow.
Harrow also sucks if your playing against blue.
Oh i overlooked Knight of the Reliquary
hahaha. Sorry I play with Emeria Angel
and when I miss a land its horrible. This is a good build then. Good job!
Made some changes. Added 4 Maelstrom Pulses, added a path to exile and removed the dauntless escort.
Dauntless was useful but it was slowing my deck a bit. Maelstrom pulse will help me get rid of plainwalkers, tokens, artifact and oblivion rings or other enchantments.
Tweaked it again. Added 2x elspeths and removed a vine and a rampaging baloths.
The deck turns out to be really expansive now.. Still testing it a lot to see what's better for it.
Removed vines and garruks
Added grim discovery which can be really useful in this deck. I can return a fetch from my graveyard + a creature for 2 mana. In return I get 2 landfalls from it which is like paying nothing if I had a cobra in play.
Also the mana curve is much better now.
Played it a lot and it's very solid now. Can't think of anything I would change until Worldwake.
get rid of sunpetal grove and throw in 4 terramorphic expanse. duals in this color combination are bad with knight, since you need to be able to maximize the potential to fetch & sacrifice. you can use her to grab a terramorphic, and then use that to fetch for a basic for even more more token generation and to pump your knights more times per turn. you should also run 2 swamps if you want to depend on maelstrom pulse.
I think terramorphic expanse could slow me down though. It really depends on when I get it. It would still help if I have a cobra into play though.
I guess I could try it. I could always just run a few more fetches like arid mesa and misty rainforests instead if it does slow down the deck.
I did think of replacing the sunpetal for basic forest and plains though as I've been in some situation where I run out of them. I really have to keep count to make sure I don't fetch for nothing.
As for the 2nd swamp, I never really need it as I have 9 chances of getting one thanks to the marsh flats and the verdant catacombs and I also have the cobras. I did run into trouble once with someone playing spreading seas and convincing mirage though.
Made some little changes.
Added 2x behemoth sledges to help against aggro deck. It just makes the rdw and boros match-up easier.
The deck is approaching it's final version. So far, I am very pleased at how it plays.
I decided to remove the Eldrazi monuments from the deck. They were good but I think replacing them by great sable stag and ob nixilis is better and the deck is faster this way.
Dropping eldrazi monument when I had a knight of reliquary with either a emeria angel or a rampaging balloth was a almost guaranted win.
The problem is that I was also often stuck with eldrazi monument in hand and couldn't really play it.
Eldrazi back in the deck :P
Can't decide whether it's better with or without it. Also added master of the wild to help create tokens.
