Commander: Kaalia of the Vast

Kaalia of the Vast EDH deck focusing on Angels, Demons and Dragons for obvious reasons, but other ideas are always welcome. Obvious plan is obvious. Use Kaalia to get big things into play and hope to have enough bombs out to win. Pretty simple really.

Looking for some general advice about what to add/take out. I'd like to fit in some more drawing abilities (limited in my colours I know) and ways to speed the deck up. Either through Kaalia herself or just plain old ramp.

Not really looking to include Land Destruction, (both targeted and mass) outside of the usual Strip Mine type effects. In my opinion they make for pretty unfun games. Even if they are quite effective in Kaalia decks.

So with M15 having recently come out, it brought with it a whole host of new cards with which to add to this deck. Lets run through them shall we?

IN: Generator Servant OUT: Coldsteel Heart

Generator Servant is such a good card in this deck. It "ramps" (if only for one turn) and provides haste to a creature. This means I can have a hasty turn 3 Kaalia of the Vast more likely. Another point of synergy is that it is recurrable with Sun Titan, meaning i can bring it back to be used multiple times in a single game. Coldsteel Heart got the cut because, similar to Generator Servant, it cannot be usually used on the same turn it is cast, and i am pretty happy with all the colour fixing I've put into this deck.

IN: Resolute Archangel OUT: Baneslayer Angel

Although I am sad to see my old Baneslayer go ( it had been in the deck since the very beginning) the new Resolute Archangel outclasses it in Baneslayers' main reason it was included - lifegain. Most of my draw spells and several lands require a life payment, and with the natural aggression this deck draws, you can soon find yourself on a lower amount of life than you are comfortable with. Being able to reset to 40 makes this angel simply an autoinclude in any Kaalia deck in my opinion.

IN: Ob Nixilis, Unshackled OUT: Iona, Shield of Emeria

While most people would probably question the REMOVAL of Iona from a Kaalia deck, I have been playing this deck for a very long time, and have seen the oppressive board states this card can cause sometimes. When several people can't play half/most/entire decks, they tend to not be particularly fun games, Iona usually causing a groan from amongst my opponents whenever she hits the table.

As a result, I've decided to replace her with the newest version of Ob Nixilis, the Fallen - Ob Nixilis, Unshackled. This new supercharged version of the fallen Planeswalker is a definite solid replacement for Iona. Powerful and dominating, but not to the point of oppression or people being unable to play their decks. Unless their commander is Maralen of the Mornsong.
