So WOTC decided to make like the Thermidorians and banned Faithless Looting, which just about ruins this deck. I'll keep it here in the hope that new printings or a reverse of the ban will at some point make the list playable again, but for now it's officially illegal.

This deck is dedicated to the Montagnards of the Revolution of '89; I hereby give full credit to Patrice Higonnet for the title.

The strategy is fairly simple: play humans and swing, dispensing with enemy blockers by means of the removal suite. The principal synergies of the deck revolve around the former part of this proposition, chiefly through Champion of the Parish, Thalia's Lieutenant and Hanweir Garrison. Moreover, the deck uses Faithless Looting and other cards like it both to garner card advantage and to deposit the Dearly Departed in the graveyard. Cards like Boros Charm and Lightning Bolt/Helix offer removal or direct damage as need demands.
