Artifact (1)

Description still in progress.

Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca is an extremely fun commander to play with. Her (Not sure if it is a boy or girl tbh) ability set allows for versatile deck building and a myriad of ways to play around her. The main ability I chose to build around was her "Tap three untapped merfolk: draw a card". With various untapping shenanigans we can easily draw our library and win the game.

  1. Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal + 2 Merfolk + Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca + Mana Rocks/Mana Dorks = Draw Library and Laboratory Maniac win.
  2. Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal + Copy Artifact + Swan Song = an arbitrary large amount of swans to smack face. Will need to wait a turn to attack unless you can play Concordant Crossroads.
  3. Isochron Scepter + Benefactor's Draught or Vitalize + 2 Merfolk + 2 Mana Dorks + Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca + Kiora's Follower or Paradox Engine = Draw Library and Laboratory Maniac win.
  4. Kaho, Minamo Historian + Benefactor's Draught or Vitalize + 2 Merfolk + 2 Mana Dorks + Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca = Draw Library and Laboratory Maniac win.
  5. Kaho, Minamo Historian + Dramatic Reversal + 2 Merfolk + Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca + Mana Rocks/Mana Dorks = Draw Library and Laboratory Maniac win.
  6. Drowner Initiate + Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal + Mana Rocks/Mana Dorks = mill everyone.
  7. Drowner of Secrets + Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal + Mana Rocks/Mana Dorks = mill everyone.

This combo can work with various other combinations of these cards which allows for decent diversity when it comes to ways to draw your library.

Hmm... Looks like Isochron Scepter, Kaho, Minamo Historian, and Laboratory Maniac play huge roles in being able to win, what happens when they all get exiled? Great question! Fortunately, a lot of competitive decks run Isochron Scepter, Paradox Engine, and Aetherflux Reservoir (at least in my meta). Since we run Thada Adel, Acquisitor, we can steal whatever we need to win. But what if none of that works??? Then you did something wrong. Luckily, you can always beat face with Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca's third ability that allows you to pump up your Merfolk.

Okay, but why the addition of stax? Stax allows me to slow the game down a bit so that I can get the right pieces into play. Furthermore, it is easier for my deck to get around these stax pieces when compared to some of these other competitive decks (at least in my meta).
