Some New Goodies! —Sept. 22, 2019
Ordered some new cards for my good boy here so here are the cuts: Silvergill Douser, I just haven't been able to utilize it very much. If I find that my deck is weaker without it, then I'll add it back in. Tempest Caller Harbinger of the Tides not as great with flash if you've gotta pay two more to use it Kiora, Master of the Depths Aquitect's Will Might put this one back if I find that I need more ways to obtain island-walking Ponder Negate Stoneforge Masterwork Thada Adel, Acquisitor not very useful really if I don't know my opponent's decks
And Now what I've added in: Nissa, Steward of Elements much more useful than Kiora. Plus I can actually use the ultimate because my merfolk were too weak to fight things that really mattered and live Plasm Capture Tideshaper Mystic basically the replacement for [Aquitect's Will] but on a creature and more than once. Only really needs to be utilized on my turn anyways Metallic Mimic +1/+1 counter synergies Seahunter Repeatable merfolk tutor! Novijen, Heart of Progress more +1/+1 counter synergies Coralhelm Commander 2 drop, a lord, AND a way to deal with fliers Coat of Arms 100x better than Stoneforge Masterwork Wanderwine Prophets Possible wincon late game

Donate is pretty pricy but what about Quicksilver Fountain? It’s cruel and stays as long as they don’t have artifact removal

I can't recommend Seahunter enough for any merfolk-centric deck. The ability to put any old fishy directly into play, at instant speed and heedless of its mana cost, is invaluable.
While using Donate to ensure your opponent has an island is certainly... imaginative, there are much better ways to accomplish the same. I'd run Spreading Seas , Sea's Claim , Reef Shaman and Tideshaper Mystic before considering Donate.

ClockworkSwordfish, Seahunter is certainly in my list of upgrades for this deck! I don’t know why I haven’t gotten around to getting it yet. Also I’ve just discovered Reef Shaman , but Tideshaper Mystic managed to elude me, so thank you! I also hadn’t heard of Sea's Claim so thank you again for all of your suggestions!

You can Donate to give them an island so islandwalk still works if you are playing a non-blue deck. If you just want creatures to get islandwalk, then use Piracy Charm.
