There is no goblin I can recommend more highly than Goblin Assassin . Being able to wipe at instant speed using Krenko is an amazing ability, and you can always just sac the goblins you get to the ability.

Check out my Krenko deck, Krenko's Krazy Kremlins! if you get a chance. I'm sure you'll find some cool stuff in there.

I've actually used your krenko deck as a basis for my own Krenko deck. Have you considered replacing Pristine Talisman with Burn at the Stake ? Absolutely wrecks people's shit I've found, turn 5/6/7 kill spell.

I have replaced Pristine Talisman , but more or less with Worn Powerstone ; I want to try Burn at the Stake , since it is a lot of damage, but the deck isn't exactly hurting for hurt on people (now that a t3 combo kill is certainly possible). If I find a slot that I don't like any more, I'll give it a shot

What's the t3 combo kill?

T1 mountain, Sol Ring , Thornbite Staff . T2 Mountain, Krenko. T3 Skirk Prospector , make two guys either sac 1 gob for mana or Mountain, equip staff to krenko. Sac a guy for 1 mana, untap Krenko, make 2/3 guys, repeat for infinite mana, goblins, and untaps of krenko. With the mana/untaps, ping using first staff ability

God, that's just mean. I'd like to mention that though my version of the Krenko deck started out with yours as a base, and though I have not been lax in editing it and playing around with different cards, I've noticed that it still is strikingly similar to yours. I swear that it isn't intentional, I just can't find good enough reason to replace most of the stuff in yours. Please think of it as a tribute, as opposed to plagiarism.

On a side note, I can't decide whether or not Lightning Crafter fits into the deck or not. Great card, repeatable removal, but it doesn't seem to mesh quite right with the rest. Your thoughts?

Well it does combo with kiki-jiki and a sac outlet, but like you said, it doesn't really seem to mesh with what the deck wants to doing. It's probably worth trying out, since the removal I'm playing is pretty scarce, so It's a potentially useful guy when the deck needs to transition to the long game, which is probably what I'm struggling with most at the moment.

And don't worry if your deck looks like mine; I looked at a bung of decks before I settled on my list, and if I didn't want people to use mine for inspiration, I wouldn't've posted it.

Rings of Brighthearth , Sword of the Paruns , and card:Magewright's Stone.

1st and 3rd seem worth it, dunno about the second one though; a little too mana intensive but the repeatability is nice and you can go infinite with 4 goblins on the field and Skirk Prospector

Rings and the stone both seem pretty good, though they're getting a little niche (ring definitely has a lot of applications, but it feels a little 'win more' with most of them); I think rather than the sword I'd try Umbral Mantle ; cheaper to play and equip, which is I think more relevant than the +2/+0 or +0/+2 in the paying-mana-to-untap-circumstance.

I'd almost want to decrease the reliance on Krenko some; he has a gigantic target on his head, and draws Spell Crumple s and Hallowed Burial s/Terminus es like a moth to flame, at which point the deck goes into a terrible durdling state where I need to tutor him back out which isn't fun; I'd like to still be able to present an offense even in situations where I can't have the K-man

Goblin Welder is fun.

And Goblin Tinkerer can snipe sol rings, moxen, and artifact lands.

I've been thinking about it and I think that you're right with the need to focus less on Krenko. The question of how to do that is one I'm still working on, but the first thing that comes to mind would be to tighten up the creature side of things and work on getting more synergy amongst everyone else as opposed to just between them and Krenko.

Lavafume Invoker seems like it could be replaced by Bloodmark Mentor , Goblin Razerunners , Spikeshot Elder , Spikeshot Goblin , or Viashino Heretic . The last three are more for removal than anything, but in theory the removal could at least stall while you wait for a tutor.

Price of Glory could be a powerful enchantment and would go with the land destruction theme, as well as disincentivizing Spell Crumple type spells.

Door of Destinies and Coat of Arms could help the rest of the deck manage without Krenko, though Coat of Arms is a little distasteful to me.

The big issue I see with trying to not rely as much on Krenko is that goblins don't have big and powerful creatures. To make a good "traditional" deck you'd need to put way more creatures in than there are now, and that isn't really viable in EDH. Things could be sacrificed to make room for bigger and more impressive creatures, but the only viable things to remove would be the land destruction subtheme, and frankly that seems powerful enough to want to keep.

The problem I have with replacing the invoker is that I either have no mana to spare or I have (effectively) infinite mana. In both cases I feel like I'd rather have invoker over elder.

Bloodmark Mentor was in the list initially, but if I'm in a situation where all of my goblins aren't turned sideways I usually don't mind them going under the bus, so the first strike was rarely needed.

I'm also convinced that Coat of Arms is a trap; just that Avenger of Zendikar exists will scare me off that card forever, I think

You have to keep in mind that Avenger of Zendikar combo decks don't generally use their GENERAL for those mass creatures. You are going to reap the rewards with 99% of your creatures while they are only going to benefit if they see the Avenger of Zendikar or similar combo pieces.

Invoker can be Fog ed off and having infinite mana you are probably going to have infinite goblins and at that point a 1/1 or a 4/1 isn't going to matter when you can just make 4 more 1/1s. Only problem with Spikeshot Elder is he requires that RR. I say Fireball and Comet Storm are a better option as when you have infinite mana you can just pop a Fireball for game. (card:Devil's Play too.)

IMO if you want to rely less on Krenko, Mob Boss add Lightning Crafter for another infinite combo. (Also, unless you missed it he combos with Zealous Conscripts too)

A completely foiled deck for $770 on TCGPlayer? I've seen nonfoiled decks for more then that. Good job.
