Based on antidancetime - Custom Budget: Affinity but with
Armament Master
as the main engine rather than the affinity beast.
I'm planning on maybe changing some of the artifact engines, but all of that is in the maybeboard atm. Have to look at the budget 2 mana cards with low equip costs. Also, I like
Gods Willing
but I feel like a more directed card could do better. So it's next on the chop block after the equipments.
There's 3x Shield of the Avatar in the sideboard against all red decks. Don't want your
Armament Master
getting Lightning Bolt'ed.
Spidersilk Net
is obvious sideboard against flyers.
First playtest:
2x Plains, 2x
Kitesail Apprentice
,
Kor Duelist
,
Holy Strength
,
Kor Outfitter
Well, that's a weird draw. Doesn't have the main engine (which isn't THAT surprising in a 60 card deck), but also doesn't have any artifacts. Sure, why not. I'll play it.
Turn 1: (assuming going first) Plains then
Kor Duelist
. (When I attach Auras to him, he will get a bigger power boost than the Kitesailer.
Turn 2: draw
Holy Strength
(what is this), Plains, put one
Holy Strength
on
Kor Duelist
, then cast
Kitesail Apprentice
. Swing and deal 2.
Turn 3: draw
Barkshell Blessing
. didn't ramp fast enough without equipment/
Armament Master
:(
Second Playtest (this one is good)
Draw 2x Plains,
Armament Master
,
Kitesail Apprentice
,
Holy Strength
, Bone Saw,
Barkshell Blessing
.
This is a good draw. I have the main engine in my hand, an artifact, and another Kor. Whee!
Turn 1: (assuming going first again) Plains,
Kitesail Apprentice
, Bone Saw
Turn 2: draw
Kor Outfitter
, play Plains,
Kor Outfitter
equipping Bone Saw to
Kitesail Apprentice
. (I'm trying to draw out any early hate before
Armament Master
comes out. No use giving away my plan too early, and he can't ramp this turn anyway.) Swing for 3 flier damage.
Turn 3: draw Bone Saw (aw, was hoping plains), play Bone Saw and
Armament Master
.
Kitesail Apprentice
is still the main threat and might draw a dumb kill spell. Swing for 3 flier damage and 2 non-flier.
Turn 4: draw Plains (ok...), play Plains, equip
Armament Master
with Bone Saw. Play
Holy Strength
on
Kitesail Apprentice
. You now have a 6/6, a 4/4, and a 3/2. If you attack for them all and they hit as well as the earlier attacks, that's lethal damage.
So turn 4 win with a good draw. Double
Barkshell Blessing
also would have brought them pretty low, but they'd have 2 life yet. So not quite passing with flying colors (badumpsh) but pretty good.
