Taken out Grim Monolith and Ancient Tomb to my Kess deck, sad days for Brago :'(

22nd EDH Deck - Azorius Stax Combo

Introduction

"Perfection through Knowledge, Satisfaction through Ruthlessness, Harmony through Acceptance"

I'm the guy who loves playing decks that aren't that popular and will spends thousands of dollars refining them until I deem them complete, yes I am that type of person. I been introduced to Magic the Gathering back in middle school in the year of 2003, the block that I started in was the Kamigawa block and I found it very interesting. During that time I played a constructed deck on and off and eventually life happened and I stopped playing, flash forward almost exactly ten years later and I joined an anime/otaku club. Here I met people playing MTG and I also started getting back into it. Currently I am an avid competitive EDH player who has a tendency to play combo/control decks, I absolutely hate to lose but I enjoy a great match. I've been known in my group as always being threatening and able to win out of the blue so they love to make my life hard and deny me all of my resources, as you will see the reason a lot of my decks are built to win either with flair or questionable commanders. Now enough about me, go read further below that's what you actually came here for!

Due to an event in an early January 2016 I had to sell all my decks, this is my second remake of Brago and this time it's being fine tuned for competitive matches. In the first revision I had a lot of fun with Brago and abusing Strionic Resonator and using cards like Lightform / Cloudform to go infinite combo off and use cards like Capsize to finish games. Coming back to Brago now, I decided to go all out as I always enjoyed playing him. The current build I'm optimizing Brago for is now a stax build, it is oppressing when played against and it is the reason why I built the deck. It's not to makes friends but make people hate themselves for playing against you. Enjoy making your opponents Kneel Before the True King.

Deck Breakdown

Aven Mindcensor : Hate bear against those who likes to look for answers. Yeah go look at the top four and pray the card your looking for is there ;3

Ethersworn Canonist : Hate bear. Enjoy playing only one non-artifact spell per turn~ Does not affect us as badly as other decks.

Hokori, Dust Drinker : Stax staple. I don't understand why people don't like Hokori, you just only untap one land per turn? ...ohh that's why, whoops.

Phyrexian Revoker : This creature can also hose down mana rocks, never underestimate it.

Recruiter of the Guard : This is your Imperial Recruiter . Gains access to all your creatures.

Rishadan Brigand : Stax staple. Devastating early game. Does not like people, beware.

Rishadan Cutpurse : See above card.

Spellseeker : One of the best inclusion from the recent sets. Tutors for a lot of spells.

Thalia, Guardian of Thraben : Stax staple. Who likes paying their taxes!

Trinket Mage : Tutors for your answers.

Trophy Mage : Tutors for your wins.

Venser, Shaper Savant : Win con. Bounce back all your opponents permanents and let your smug grin reverberate through your opponent's tears.

Walking Ballista : Your other win con once you have access to infinite mana.

Mana rocks don't need description as they are used to accelerate Brago, however if you want to discuss rocks we can and just leave a message below~

Cursed Totem : Hate Bear staple. Against those Rhys, Arcum Daggson, and Yisan players.

Grafdigger's Cage : Anti-shenanigans card, prevents Tooth and Nail and GY tricks.

Lightning Greaves : Protection and Haste for Brago. Good for them turn 2 Brago triggers.

Mana Web : Stax against those control players, your go to against control pods as they have the choice to either tap out or go all in.

Pithing Needle : More hate for activation abilities.

Rings of Brighthearth : Another win con to proc infinite mana.

Sensei's Divining Top : Staple. Self-Protection. Library Manipulation. Card Draw. Plus there are many funny things you can do with Rings of Brighthearth , infinite colorless, and top.

Sphere of Resistance : Stax staple. Gotta pay your taxes man.

Static Orb : Stax staple. Dude ya gotta stop, I'm going to need you to chill for a bit.

Strionic Resonator : Your go to win con. Causes Brago to go infinite blinks.

Tangle Wire : Stax staple. See this is what I told you about chilling out, now I gotta be the fun police.

Thorn of Amethyst : Stax staple, makes thing more and more expensive. Just like our current economy.

Trinisphere : Another stax staple. Increases the amount of lower cost spells, since we are able to untap more to them due to Brago, we outvalue our opponents faster.

Tsabo's Web : Card engine as well as stax all in one. Denies people to abuse land abilities.

Voltaic Key : Early game can lead to a lot of fast speed plays, late game can help under the stax we lay down, highly versatile.

Winter Orb : Stax staple. Just relax and chill.

Act of Authority : Just blink and you will have it for the rest of the game hopefully.

Aura of Silence : Stax staple and removal as well. Stellar card, I love it.

Back to Basics : Stax staple. While this can affect you as well, you should have more mana in the form of mana rocks.

Blind Obedience : Stax staple. Good card to have a round them pesky haste creatures or opposing fast mana rocks.

Land Tax : The reason why we can go lower than 33 lands. Consistent land in our hands means we can have a steady tempo as well as deck thinning our library.

Mystic Remora : Card advantage that can always be reset with Brago. No one will consistently pay 4 extra mana to prevent you drawing.

Oath of Jace : Trying this one instead of Trial of Knowledge because being on curve 1 cmc earlier makes a difference.

Rhystic Study : Card engine, card draw is very important in Brago.

Stasis : With the amount of mana rocks we have we can indefinitely keep up Stasis.

Tezzeret the Seeker : Two abilities that are relevant. Tutors for any artifact to the battlefield or untapping artifacts. Yes this is an auto include.

All counterspells listed in deck are for mainly protection for your cards unless it's to stop an opponent from winning the game or having an overwhelming advantage

Cyclonic Rift : Classic EDH staple. Makes people mad, I wonder why?

Enlightened Tutor : Tutors for wins, duh.

Into the Roil : You just need to delay them only one turn, this card does that plus gives you card draw as well.

Path to Exile : Staple removal.

Swords to Plowshares : Staple removal.

Whir of Invention : Another tutor for your win con.

Fabricate : Tutor~ You have to love the amount of redundancy this decks has :P

Reshape : Losing your artifact to win is no downfall to you at all~

Transmute Artifact : Way to grab your win con or any piece in general.

Windfall : Card advantage and disruption.

Academy Ruins : To gain back your destroyed artifacts. You know it's going to happen, this just lets you have it come back again...and again...and again...and again. Until they decide to exile it, then you counter that.

Inventors' Fair : Artifact tutor on land! Yes please, artifact threshold is meaningless in this deck.
