Kindred Spirits' Control

Modern* Spirits

SFlorian

Sideboard

I've played Magic super casually on-and-off for over a decade, but this is my first attempt at a "real," pro-style deck. Please let me know what you think, and any improvement suggestions! This deck is Modern legal, I'm not die-hard enough to do Standard lol, and it's also quite budget conscious (ie, Geist of Saint Traft is not an option).

The idea here is basically to get Drogskol Reaver out as fast as possible and use it to kill the opponent via direct attacking, with some extra boost and protection from Drogskol Captain. But I intend rarely if ever actually cast/pay for the Reaver, since it's so pricey. That's where Call to the Kindred comes in. I either just draw one regularly or use Tallowisp combined with casting a cheaper spirit, either Lantern Kami or a Drogskol Captain to find one, then cast that on one of the spirit creatures, and start getting to play a spirit almost every turn for free (in addition to drawing a card). If I happen to actually draw a Reaver, I can recycle it into the deck (and draw two new cards) using See Beyond.

There's then a good bit of counter as well, to try to hold off anything the opponent tries to do, and to stop any kill creature or disenchant spells that throw off my Call to the Kindred / Drogskol Reaver combo, and the Dungeon Geists can lock down an opponents nasty creature. Last, some Cackling Counterpart to get yet another Reaver or Captain out there, and some Distortion Strike to pump them up and get them through unblockable.

The sideboard for now is just a bunch of different counterspells, that I'd rotate in depending on what kind of deck I'm facing (and Faith's Reward in case they're running Supreme Verdict)

I have yet to play this deck, and have to find some good players to test it out on! (my one other Magic-playing friend is also super casual). Thanks so much!!
